Facts...

Fact: Every single Republican is bat-shit insane. There are different levels of bat-shittery, but on the whole, they're all insane.

Fact: If elected, every Republican will do everything in their power to roll back all liberals hold dear - every inch of progress this country has made the last 100 years.

Fact: Hillary Clinton is not perfect. Far from it.

Fact: Hillary Clinton is infinitely times a billion better than any Republican candidate. It's not even close. This isn't just choosing the lesser of two evils. This is choosing whether or not you want to eat fast food or get your genitalia gnawed off by a rabid dog with shards of glass in its mouth.

Fact: Bernie Sanders is not perfect. Far from it.

Fact: Bernie Sanders is infinitely times a billion better than any Republican candidate. It's not even close. This isn't just choosing the lesser of two evils. This is choosing whether or not you take a luke-warm shower in the morning or bathe in toxic acid that peels off your skin and leaves you a bloody mush of bones and muscle.

Fact: Politics is never black & white and this country will be better regardless if Hillary or Bernie wins.

Oh, and Martin too!

Happy Thanksgiving.

2. Hey, some Republicans are reasonable.

But they damn sure aren't in the current GOP Presidential field.

And before anyone asks, I'd say Huntsman is reasonable even if I disagree with him on a host of issues. With the caveat that, in the mix of the GOP field, being reasonable isn't hard at all.

there probably won't be any significant reposturing of US military strength around the globe, and we might argue over whether SSI cost-of-living adjustments are 1-2% more or less.

On the other hand, Hillary Clinton would most likely honor previous agreements with Iran, will almost certainly continue the path of rapprochement with Cuba, the EPA is safe as an institution created to protect the environment, she will not retreat one inch on women's rights, her Justice Department would undoubtedly continue to vigorously oppose GOP efforts to disenfranchise voters, and she will not retreat on the gains made for LGBT rights, health care, or renewable energy and climate change. Her appointments to the federal bench -- including the SCOTUS -- will undoubtedly skew liberal. She will maintain secular government and separation of church and state. She will support the social safety net.

I don't have to recount what a government under any of the GOP front runners would look like. Their promises are clear. Expand Gitmo. Close borders. Deport law-abiding immigrants -- children and adults. Repeal PPACA. Roll back all recent gains in LGBT rights, living wage, renewable energy and climate change. Liquidate public lands. Escalate military involvement in Syria and redeploy large numbers of US soldiers there and in Iraq. Empower evangelical Christian churches in public affairs. Stack the federal bench with right-wing, conservative ideologues. Slash all forms of government assistance that don't involve rich people.

Hillary Clinton is far from perfect. She has decidedly conservative tendencies in some areas and a blandly conventional view of government, business, and civic life. But she at least believes in the need for functioning government institutions, and she believes in the necessity of the regulatory state to protect the public from the worst excesses of business and industry.

The OP is correct, in my opinion. This isn't lesser evil vs. slightly greater evil. It's lesser evil vs. insanity.

Reasonable talk, courtesy, positive outlook?? It's got to be some kind of trick!
How can anyone take you seriously without drama, outrage, hyperbole, exclamation points, and all-caps?

As Democrats, it's clear that we do a much for which to be thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving, Drunken Irishman!

10. Indeed. She trusts a man who wants Muslims to be treated like Jews were in Nazi Germany.

This is the man she said is honest and who would be a better choice than Bernie:

Donald Trump's horrifying words about Muslims

Shockingly, Trump told Yahoo News that he would consider requiring Muslim-Americans to register with a government database, or worse, mandating that they carry special identification cards that note their faith.

The reaction to this idea, fairly or unfairly, by many on social media, was to accuse Trump of wanting to mimic laws that Nazis had imposed on Jews, including requiring them to wear a gold Star of David on their clothes.

After Trump confirmed that he would set up a database for Muslim-Americans, an NBC reporter asked him point blank: "Is there a difference between requiring Muslims to register and Jews in Nazi Germany?" A clearly annoyed Trump at first refused to respond, but then told the reporter, "You tell me," and walked away.

...using the sarcasm tag. But it certainly is amusing when people need it to be able to tell the difference and know when they're being needled.

That anyone would take me seriously suggests how tightly wound they are. good grief!

I kid about trump, but maybe bush ... who knows? Kidding!

Or am I? :-P

13. I don't trust anyone who praises Trump and says he's a better choice than Bernie.

Especially after they said this about Bernie in the same thread:

"There's NO WAY that I could trust him now.

He'll say and do anything to be nominated! Just like any other politician! All frauds, trying to save their jobs ... in it for themselves and the power.
"

"So what is he now? A Republicrat? A Demoblican? The majority of Dems don't support him, so

... he's chasing after Republican votes. HOW DESPERATE HE MUST BE!

Can you imagine if Hillary had suggested such a thing? OMG! It hysterics from Bernie's fans would be NON-STOP! You know it's true!

Where are his loyalties? Which side is he on? There's your weather vane! How can I trust him now?

Bernie is just like any other politician who wants fame and power. THIS is the man that people want to trust? He'll have his proverbial "finger on the button".

Nuclear war frightens me.
