To the 228,000+ DU members, Happy Thanksgiving.

Yes, I think we should keep our political and religious beliefs to ourselves, at least for the day.
This is supposed to be a happy holiday. Lets not spoil it.

Here in Japan, we had Kinro-Kansha-no-Hi, or "Labor Thanksgiving Day", last Monday, although most people probably just thought of it as a 3-day weekend.

There's also a 1940's Karloff horror film called "Black Friday". Something about implanting half a brain in someone...that turns out to be an "Abby Normal" brain.

Buy it.... tomorrow.

two is INVERSE. More "stuff" does not equal a better existence.

and the joy of being together and sharing company. Thanksgiving is that type of holiday. Certainly sharing a meal with those you love can be allowed in the midst of political angst. It is also as good a day as any other to share what you have with those who don't have enough.

Yep, sittin' here with my grand-kid at my son's place in Chicago. This is
the first year in a long while that we have not helped serve TKGV dinner
at a shelter. Our young 'uns are doing all the cookery for this one - and it's
the first time in 55 years that my lovely wife has not cooked on this day.

The only thing missing is a crazy uncle - maybe we can rent one for the day here in Chi-town.
