Does anyone else recall when there was wailing and gnashing of teeth when McGovern engineered a change in the rules to ensure that the delegates to the national conventions would be representative of the nation? IIRC, the rules required so many women, so many (then) minorities, etc. Of course, a lot of white guys got left out, and some were so pissed they joined the Republicans. Today, when whites are becoming just one more minority, McGovern's principles are being rewarded.

While the progressives, led by Teddy, took down Carter. It would be another 12 years before we got the WH back by a (OMG! Horrors!) a DLC backed candidate. People got jobs again.

The same people that were so proud of themselves over McGovern and those rules, among Other things, ran the party when they shouldn't have ever even been allowed to organize a 2 car funeral procession.

are getting ready to implode.
