Clinton: I Will Take U.S. Relationship With Israel 'To The Next Level'

Leading Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton says if she is elected president next year, she will take the relationship between the United States and Israel "to the next level."

“I would extend an invitation to the Israeli prime minister to come to the United States,” Clinton said on Sunday at the Saban Forum in Washington hosted by the Brookings Institution when asked about her first day in the White House, "to work towards very much strengthening and intensifying our relationship on military matters."

Ties between the Obama administration and the Zionist regime have been strained because of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s strong opposition to the Iran nuclear agreement and the creation of a Palestinian state.

Clinton said that Iran could violate its nuclear accord with the P5+1 group of countries, and accused the Islamic Republic of showing "provocative behavior”.

In addition, she said the military option should not be "taken off the table" when dealing with Iran, echoing the rhetoric of Netanyahu who has repeatedly called on the US to use force against the Islamic Republic to stop its peaceful nuclear program.

And once you threaten, draw that line in the sand, you have to do it or you cost the USA it's credibility as the top global cop.

Mrs. Clinton used the forum to continue staking out a harder line on Iran than President Obama has in public. She repeatedly threatened to take what she called “harsh” steps at the first sign that Iran seeks to violate commitments it made in the July nuclear agreement, which sharply limits its ability to possess or produce nuclear fuel for the next 15 years.

She said there should be “no doubt in Tehran” that if the United States saw “any violations in the deal” or an effort to procure or develop nuclear weapons technology, “we will stop them,” including, she added, “taking military action.”

At one point, responding to a question, she referred to using the “nuclear option” against Iran — usually interpreted as using a nuclear weapon — before her attention was caught by a prominent member of the audience, Justice Stephen G. Breyer of the Supreme Court.

“Oh, the military option, thank you, Justice Breyer. He’s a careful listener,” Mrs. Clinton said, reiterating that she meant a military option to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. It was a rare moment: a sitting member of the court rescuing a political candidate from a mistaken comment.

Clinton says U.S. could "totally obliterate" Iran
http://www.reuters.com/article/2008/04/22/us-usa-politics-iran-idUSN2224332720080422

On the day of a crucial vote in her nomination battle against fellow Democrat Barack Obama, the New York senator said she wanted to make clear to Tehran what she was prepared to do as president in hopes that this warning would deter any Iranian nuclear attack against the Jewish state.

"I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran (if it attacks Israel)," Clinton said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them," she said.

"That's a terrible thing to say but those people who run Iran need to understand that because that perhaps will deter them from doing something that would be reckless, foolish and tragic," Clinton said.

We're going to pop the question over dinner at Israel's favorite restaurant. Israel will be the 51st state, and then in the coming years we'll adopt a whole bunch of other countries to add to our little family.
