(47,803 posts)It would be helpful if we all could do more than knee-jerk responses, and instead actually criticize posts of those who support our candidates when they deserve criticism too.

(2,760 posts)I'm say that it's unlikely that Bernie wins any new voters by doing so.
He's obviously not as comfortable talking about those issues as he is talking about his economic platform. Also, it's not as though he's going to convince people that don't already support him that he's as capable as Hillary on these issues. So what would he gain at this point by doing so? He's gotten this far by staying on message, may as well stay the course.

(9,822 posts)most people figure out the "keep us safe" talk is unexamined crap, and the real issue is rejecting the fear and looking at real issues.
I am glad that at least one candidate isn't buying into the hysteria of you and the Republicans.

(11,014 posts)a Presidential candidate has a DUTY to address people's fears and provide solutions. Not run away.
That is what "being Presidential" is all about. Sanders is just not ready. Perhaps he will be ready in about 10 years.

(12,958 posts)But a NEOCON meltdown! You sound like Ari Fleischer circa 2003. Hilarious!
Sorry, I don't partake in war criminal inspired terrorist fear mongering. I will never smoke that crack.

(12,958 posts)He used terrorism as a propaganda tool to instill fear and stifle dissent. Neocon 101.
I don't smoke from the 'Be afraid, be very afraid TERROR!!' crack pipe. Never will. You see, this sort of thing works on right wingers because they tend to have enlarged amygdala which controls emotions and fear. Liberals? Not so much.

Tired ol talking point with a proven track record of failure.
Some new schtick is desperately needed.
How about, "Bernie eats lima beans with this hands."

(24,411 posts)No one bought that nonsense. Obama did win that election, no?
I doubt that someone would actually try to position Bernie as someone who can't handle national security issues--simply because, for one event, he wanted to stay focused on domestic issues our of respect for the pastors with whom he was meeting.
No one would really suggest something so silly, right?

(7,231 posts)Because the MSM are hell-bent (Hill-bent?) on ignoring those issues. That doesn't mean they aren't urgent.

(55,894 posts)Honestly, your OP comes across as intentionally inflammatory.
It makes no sense.
It's almost as if you don't really understand the situation or dynamics or politics and simply wanted to throw up inflammatory nonsense hoping it would pass as legit for a Clinton supporter.
My fav was that $250K/year income was middle class.
