Does Hillary make Trump look a little less bad?

Last edited Fri Dec 11, 2015, 08:35 PM - Edit history (1)

Perspective is everything.

If Hillary would go up against Trump, sure Hillary is a policy heavyweight and has an understanding of foreign policy and domestic policy that makes Trump look like a kindergartner.

However, Hillary is the poster child for what's wrong in Washington (the culture of selfish politicians that care more about their career and their wealthy financial supporters than their constituents), and thus Trump would look like the relatively uncorrupt revolutionary to change Washington. The image of being a revolutionary worked with Obama's 2008 campaign.

Thus, Hillary makes Trump look relatively honest, real, what you see is what you get, candidate (despite him being outrageously offensive and the hero for racists in America) and Hillary as the bought and paid for shapeshifting politician that is the favorite of Wall Street and the 1%, and this would make the Democrats look like the corrupt defenders of the establishment. It should be the opposite, dammit!

That explains where the OP got this moronic notion.

The Republican Poohbahs are terrified that a Clinton-Trump contest would drive hordes of equally terrifed Republicans over the line to vote for Hillary. That would be a really sweet outcome, but I don't think they'll allow Trump to be nominated.

its insiders vs outsiders. People are fed up with insiders and wanting to support outsiders.

Hillary Clinton is the stereotypical insider. She has all the connections with her party's leadership, with the media and with the power brokers and money people in Washington.

Trump is the ultimate outsider, he owes nothing to the party leaders or the fat cats who bankroll his party's candidates. Sure, he says a lot of things that are disgusting or outright repugnant, but the insiders are scared shitless of him and that makes him appealing to a lot of people who are ready for things to change.

Hillary supporters ignore the idea that Democrats would basically have to defend the poster child of traditional corrupt "in the pocket of the 1%" politics, Hillary Clinton, if she becomes the Democratic Party nominee and Trump becomes the Republican nominee. Trump, even with his far right extremism, gets to say:

- that he's not beholden to any special interests, while Hillary is
- that he has defied his party's establishment, while Hillary is the queen of her party's establishment
- that Hillary is Wall Street's favorite candidate, while he isn't
- that he's the ultimate outsider running in the party, while Hillary is the ultimate insider.
- that he's against the TPP while Clinton supported the TPP and NAFTA.

To me, that's a very uncomfortable position to have to be on the side of the corporate establishment. I would rather have Bernie to be our candidate of course because he's the moral opposite of Trump and would really put Trump in his place.

Trump is a bad hair day away from advocating concentration camps for Mexicans and Muslims. The Clintons play hardball politics. That will come in handy when it comes to facing the Republicans. If Barack Obama thought Bill and Hill were anything like Trump he would have nothing to do with them.

Also, Trump has made racist statements about African Americans. He inflated murder statistics to make it look like blacks were killing lots of whites and he said he prefers Jewish accountant to black accountants because the former are better at handling money...That was a twofer...He dissed Jews and blacks.

He also dissed Asians too when he used a faux Chinese accent.

I'm talking about the cultural implications of participating in\exploiting racism. People feel comfortable letting it all out now and that has been the case since Obama took office. The Clinton's helped lay the groundwork for that by participating.
Dog whistle politics have been used by republicans for a very long time. But, then the win at any cost MO led Clinton to delve into that tool chest. It's absurd that anyone with any genuine sense of racial\social justice would forget about it.
