It is an spawn of the conservative DLC, and organization (funded in part by the Koch Brothers) that was abandoned because its"label" became a negative...so, like any cold blooded reptile, it shed its skin, but it is the same snake and the same old sell out people, only now named "The Third Way", or "New Democrats" (old Republicans).
There is plenty of documentation either on Google, or this site that documents the 3rd Way.

(4,221 posts)How can they not get this?
It is in the Party's best interest for this primary race to go on as long as possible.
The debates get media coverage, the horse-race gets media coverage, campaign trail reporters get on the buses and follow candidates around hoping to get a story. When that part is over we lose the media platform to balance the Republican horserace.
But let's say that Hillary wins it all February 1st. Bernie and Martin concede or fizzle out.
The media switches their FULL ATTENTION to Republicans and their horse race for over five months. Republicans get their message and their framing out 24/7. They know for sure who their target is. The Republicans throw punches at each other and at Hillary non-stop. They bask in the added attention. They are smug and suck all the oxygen out of the universe.
MOMENTUM GRINDS TO NEARLY A HALT.
Inertia is tough to overcome.
I can't understand this constant drumbeat that the primaries need to be over immediately. Who would that help?
It would only make sense if some people are more scared of Bernie staying in the race than they are of losing momentum.

kenfrequed
(7,865 posts)And it is even bigger than that. The media wouldn't just be focusing on Republican candidates, every issue or question that would be thrown Hillary's way would be a republican policy and she would feel compelled to move to a "sensible middle ground" in order to highlight the craziness of the Republican party.
Of course this would be particularly hellish in the field of foreign policy. Every one of her positions would move to the Third Way website recommendation.
The GOP would define the platform of what is being discussed and that HURTS us. A lot!
