The emails are starting to turn...

I don't know about you, but I'm guessing more than a good number of you get emails from a conservative idiot (in the family, or otherwise) who sends viciously anti-Obama material, from the 'his plans for destruction of America' to the typical 'Michelle has 300 assistants' sort. What I have noticed lately is a change however. A big change.

It used to be folks would say 'see, this is the reason for voting for Mitt Romney'... but now they contain a more desperate call to action...

PLEASE DON'T VOTE FOR SOMEONE ELSE... OR NOT CHOOSE TO VOTE AT ALL

Here's a good example from an email dissing Obama:

Although the article below is a few months old, the analysis is right on.
This is why we all have to work to keep Obama from winning a second term.
If re-elected, he will continue to ignore laws, court decisions and the Constitution.
Not voting is in effect a vote for Obama -
A vote for a third party candidate is a vote for Obama.

It goes without saying that NOW the Republican's greatest fear is losing a vote to Obama by a fellow Republican or Independent. They fear that Republicans will either A.) Vote for a 3rd party or worse yet... B.) NOT vote at all

When the ground is giving way under your feet quickly, it's hard to notice it until you are already halfway sliding down the hill. Oh, yes, at that point, you definitely notice. Well, from recent emails, you can finally tell that the GOP is not only feeling the ground fall from beneath their feet, they are in-fact realizing that they are almost at the bottom of the hill entirely.

Just the fact that they are re-circulating old stand-by emails, are willing to admit it is old, but then use it as a sad attempt to keep more rats from abandoning ship, really puts the state of the Republican Party in perspective.

I guess when you continue to try to fight your argument that 'the black guy is going to destroy this country' but he hasn't done so in 4 years, your 'end is near' argument falls on some pretty deaf ears. Even the ones that were on your side before.

There's only so many times you can tell someone they are on the verge of disaster before their natural reflexes no longer believe you.

I think we are at that point in the election.
The GOP has blown their wad already.
There's nothing left to argue.

As you probably know, a lot of the Republican email forwarders don't blind-carbon-copy their email list. So I find it quite fun to grab their emails and save them.

And to what purpose?

I plan to write a really nice F*ck Off letter to each and every one of them after the election is over, to give them a taste of their own medicine. I don't know about you, but you might consider how fun it is to get those nasty emails when you are able to harvest those emails addresses from the 'Obama Hates God' claims and start your own 'eat crow' email list for after the election. And enjoy the day when you can send a politely cutting email welcoming the idiots back to reality and thanking them for playing.

Oh, and their parting gift is a warm and enthusiastic welcome to come to Washington DC to witness the swearing in of our President for another successful 4 year term.

I have relatives and friends who keep sending those things to me, and I know some of the names on their lists are fellow democrats or left-leaning independents. No matter how many times I tell them not to send anti anything to me and to please learn how to use the Bcc function, they won't do it or can't figure out how it works. So please think twice about sending that kind of email to people, as you could be sending a "F*ck Off" letter to someone on the same side as you. I'm irritated enough by them and the crap they send.

I copy the addressees and send my rebuttal, backed up with facts and sources. I usually get at least one rabid Repug who writes me back in a rage. They are PISSED that I would write to them. Tough shit.

It's okay that the original author can send them an email full of lies, but when I reply with the truth, it's so terrible? Tough shit.

If it's a particularly nasty email that they send back to me, I once again copy the original list of addressees in my reply. If they are the type that is all sweet and nice and churchy to everyone that they know, it embarrasses the hell out of them to be exposed as filthy-mouthed assholes to their friends, collegues and family. Tough shit.

To rebut. They say, Hey, this can't be true. Will you do the research for me and answer this crap? I do the research, formulate a scathing rebuttal and send it to them, and they send it to the Repuke and everyone else the Puke has copied in their email.

See, they don't send it to you, because they know that you will call them out for the liars that they are. But since you've exposed them to be a liar, all of their former collegues now question everything that the Puke sends to them.

I'm a firm believer in NOT preaching to just the choir.

I usually start off with, "Why are you sending spam to me, and as you already know, it's full of lies, so why are you doing this? Is it possible that you don't care about the truth, in which case, why would I listen to anything you have to say on this subject? Last I checked, it was a sin to lie. Shame on you. If you don't like the man, don't vote for him."

The last part is only because the usual suspects are "good christians".

Try reminding them this:

Republicans in Congress just this summer voted to raise the taxes of every conservative idiot we know (and all of us) by an average of $1600, by blocking the middle class tax cut extension.

Democrats want that extension, while dropping the one for the rich. The only way anti-tax Republicans are going to get it is by doing what Grover Norquist told 'em to do and VOTE OUT EVERY REPUBLICAN BASTARD WHO RAISED OUR TAXES.

Tell them that a vote for any Republican is a vote to raise taxes on themselves, and ask them why Grover isn't saying anything about it.

Their moral/intellectual wad is gone, dried up.

Their financial wad is still very VERY full, and they have only begun to spend.

Another poster said Romney will get 45% of the vote no matter what: I agree, but not because there is so much hate out there. After a season of carpet bombing by Republican TV and radio ads, a Republican ticket consisting of Roger Rabbit and Osama bin Laden's ghost would STILL get 45% of the vote. A Democratic ticket of Jesus and Saint Peter would struggle to get 55% of the vote. That's what happens when you spend money on invading Iraq instead of improving public schools.

I no longer respond to anything they dump on my email, unless it is actually something that represents a good faith attempt to discuss an issue factually -- and of course, that almost never happens.

Instead, I am now sending them one or two photos every day of the latest Obama campaign appearances. 3000 people here. 10,000 people there. I don't give my message any commentary other than to state the place the photo was taken, the estimated crowd size, and the population of the community.

This is really killing them because they don't have any response. 4 years ago, their response was "he's nothing but a rock star." But for 4 years they have been saying that everybody hates Obama, just like them. These photos are a stake through the heart.

I encourage everybody who is regularly harassed by Freeper-types to do this same thing.

Break them down. Make them suffer at least a little for all the hate they have spewed the past 4 years.

We have to remind ourselves that the real bullies -- the freeper types are probably 5-10% of the population. But with the help of Faux 'news" and the other right wing institutions, they honestly believe they represent a majority.

It is a real shock and very demoralizing for them to have to confront the fact that President Obama enjoys a great deal of support -- and not just among minorities.

This photo sharing is one easy way to stand up to the bullies, and it works a lot better than arguing about their hysterical emails. Sending a photo of 10,000 people at an Obama event is essentially saying "Scoreboard!". So far, they have absolutely no response to that. This is the first time in 4 years I have been able to shut any of them up.

Part of why this works is that they don't really like Romney. So even if Romney had a well-attended event, they really can't bring themselves to promote him. So they are left with nothing.

If you have right-wingers sending you BS emails every day, try out this technique. it is easy and effective.
