Related: About this forumBernie campaign months ago alerted the DNC that data was available to other campaigns. Wow.
Sanders' communications head said NGP VAN has failed beforeSpeaking to BuzzFeed News, Michael Briggs communications aide for the Sanders campaign turned the blame on NGP VAN. "Sadly, the vendor who runs the DNC's voter file program continues to make serious errors," he said, referring to "more than one occasion" when Democratic campaigns were inadvertently able to access each others' data. "Our campaign months ago alerted the DNC to the fact that campaign data was being made available to other campaigns," he said. "At that time our campaign did not run to the media, relying instead on assurances from the vendor."
Again:
"Our campaign months ago alerted the DNC to the fact that campaign data was being made available to other campaigns," he said. "At that time our campaign did not run to the media, relying instead on assurances from the vendor."
The DNC said it was "short in duration"....yet they were notified months ago??
Luis Miranda, the DNC's communications director, said the committee was "working with our campaigns and the vendor to have full clarity on the extent of the breach, ensure that this isolated incident does not happen again, and to enable our campaigns to continue engaging voters on the issues that matter most to them and their families." Stu Trevelyan, head of NGP VAN, downplayed the incident, saying it was "fairly short in duration," and that "by lunchtime, it was resolved."
I smell something fishy somewhere.

(32,638 posts)They did this on their own. Hillary's campaign had nothing to do with it. Neither did the DNC. Bernie's national director screwed up, and it is no one else's fault.
Stop creating a huge conspiracy theory where there is none.

Sanders Campaign Fires Data Director After Breach of Clinton Files
The Sanders campaign was blocked from crucial voter information until an investigation is completed.

Bernie Sanders's presidential campaign has fired its national data director after he improperly accessed proprietary data from Hillary Clinton's campaign.
The staffer, Josh Uretsky, viewed data that the Clinton campaign had added to its own files during a temporary glitch in the voter database managed by outside vendor NGP VAN, two people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.
The Sanders campaign confirmed late Thursday that it had fired a staffer who had accessed modeling data from the Clinton campaign but did not identify the aide. "That behavior is unacceptable and that staffer was immediately fired," Sanders communications director Michael Briggs said in a statement.
Briggs responded to a question about Uretsky's employment status by sharing that statement with Bloomberg a second time. Uretsky did not respond to requests for comment.
The fallout from the breach, first reported by the Washington Post, is a blow to the Sanders campaign, which is unable to access crucial data just as the Iowa caucus approaches on February 1. The Democratic National Committee maintains a master file of voter information that campaigns rent from the party and update with their own data. Access won't be restored until an investigation is completed, a Democratic source said. ...........

He has been consistent and focused for decades, they attack him on that.
DWS said repeated on TV that they were investigating this 'incident', but they have already leveled the penalty. If this is allowed to stand, stick a fork in it, the Democratic Party is done.

(4,407 posts)... and the DNC/DWS are in Hillary's pocket, is there any reason to believe they weren't accessing Bernie's data? If the guy doing the IT had worked for Hillary for decades, anything they say should be accompanied by mountains worth of salt.
