Theres also a petition circulating demanding Debbie Wasserman Schultz reinstate the Sanders campaigns access to the 50-state voter file, displayed below.'

(1,364 posts)Look, here is what we do. Go to the local Boards of Election and get the voter lists. They will have names, addresses, phone numbers and party affiliation. I have one of my community sitting right here beside me. Still, do all the things that elleng suggests and don't take the pressure off of DWS and the DNC. Use social media to tell the full story. Now, stop complaining and git out there and get the local lists. We can do this.

U of M Dem
(154 posts)or have the mentality of an adolescent, that is your shame and is a baseless assertion.
This world is neither black nor white. Where you see consequences, I see an incredibly complex intersection of variables sometimes referred to as the sea of gray.
What I suggest you do to bring yourself clarity is take a good look at the facts.
No one was caught, Sanders went to the DNC with this.
Allegations are not proof. Prove that Sander's conspired to steal these documents or attempted to cover this up and I will be right there with you pointing fingers and demanding there be consequences for actions taken.
Tarc
(10,472 posts)Ahh, this must be the "as long as I fess up, then it's not a crime!" mentality.
Adolescent indeed, a complete lack of responsibility for one's own actions.
U of M Dem
(154 posts)for that I am relieved as I now cannot take your related comments seriously.
I now understand that you think a Senator who has worked nearly his whole life in politics and social activism is adolescent-like in his behavior. I patently disagree obviously, but you probably knew that would be the case before you hit Post my reply!
Now that we understand this, it is easy to see how this particular issue involving many variables can be summed up in such a simplistic manner. Again, your assertion is baseless and thus trivial.
Of course, your interpretation of Sanders going to the DNC conveniently steers clear of the more complicated variables in the mix.
(From an earlier post of mine relevant to this post)
Did Bernie carry on as if this access was OK? No.
Did Bernie report the data leak? Yes.
Did Bernie fire the staff who was involved? Yes.
Did Bernie fall into DWS's trap of indefinitely keeping him from a vital campaign resource? If this was premeditated (and it sure looks like it as this is a convenient way to hamstring a campaign), then yes it was a trap. If not, then she should have no trouble being a reasonable human being and reinstate Bernie's access after reporting the flaw.
If you are seriously lock stepping behind the DNC in holding Bernie personally responsible for a DNC IT error, then just admit this and move on. Bernie, in my opinion handled this error professionally by quickly stepping forward to get ahead of this before it "became a thing." It is very suspicious at best, criminal at worst, that it "became a thing," anyway. It is even more suspicious that it this happened in such a hurried fashion from on high by DWS.
I dare you to respond with something substantive. Anything substantive.

(154 posts)Something along the lines of Bernie did this to himself by breaking the law.
I wish my world were this simplistic, but we all know camp weathervane is a hive mind.
Lets check the facts:
DWS pulled the plug on Bernie's access to the voter file after software bugs from the firewall vendor led to a leak that Bernie's campaign reported to the DNC.
If I were a criminal, I don't think I would report myself to the police after illegally taking advantage of a loophole.
Did Bernie hack HRC data? No.
Did Bernie carry on as if this access was OK? No.
Did Bernie report the data leak? Yes.
Did Bernie fire the staff who was involved? Yes.

Another Link: Look closely to the words in the article especially Allegedly. Allegedly can be defined as - used to convey that something is claimed to be the case or have taken place, although there is no proof.

(7,865 posts)Acorn reported bad voter registrations and then got accused of improprieties by republicans to sabotage getting out the vote.
The Sanders campaign reported the holes in security and even fired those they thought might have been accessing the data. And then DWS punishes the entire campaign for the failings of the software.
All on the day before a big debate.
Anyone that pretends that this was justified is full of it.
