2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI believe Bernie is building a new party, one with honesty, integrity and
working for all the American people, not just a few of the wealthiest. And
he is building this new party without any change in its name: It is still
The Democratic Party.
It seems rather odd, come to think of it. He had been an Independent all his
political life, and did not join the Democratic Party until he announced his
decision to run for the presidency this year!!
This change is coming from within - it's the Soul of the Democratic Party that
will be leaving behind all the corruption of the past, and embracing, instead,
Honesty, Integrity and Dedication to the betterment of our entire nation.
We are going to help Bernie succeed!

(21,115 posts)It fact its doing quite well....have you noticed we have a very successful sitting Democratic President for example?
Cal33
(7,018 posts)the spirit of bipartisanship. It seems that now he realizes that the Republicans don't want
any bipartisanship. They're strictly only interested in having things on their own terms.
It's their way, or the highway. And the Republicans were mostly successful in getting
their way.
An example: After one bargaining session with the President, Boehner came out and
boasted that he had gotten 98% of what he wanted!

(7,018 posts)of presidents, who knew how to run the government. They also knew how to let
the people have some say. This was so unlike the situation today, where the
government listens only to the corporations, and the people have no influence
in the government at all. We're no longer a democracy, but an oligarchy.
I'd prefer the government that is of the people, by the people and for the
people - the way it used to be at one time, when America's greatness was a beacon
to the world. Now the money- and power-mad corporations have taken over. Just
about every-one and everything can be bought. And corruption runs amok in places
high and low, and everywhere else in between. How degenerate have we become!!!
Many can't help but admit that we've become no different from a Third-World nation.

(7,018 posts)wait until we know what will be brought out there.

(36,437 posts)It is a watershed moment, as is evident from the desperate flailing. Bernie had one thing going for him: he seemed honest. It turns out he (and/or his people) are common thieves, and clowns to boot.
It's been all over but the crying. Now it is just an embarrassment.

Now that the case has been brought to court, we will know soon enough.

(15,429 posts)The Clinton campaign spent millions of dollars and thousands of man hours on the data the Sanders campaign stole.
No way would they give it to the Sanders campaign for the asking.

ought to be coming out very soon. Some of it might even be discussed during tomorrow's
Dem. Primary debate -- I hope.

(15,429 posts)The data at issue is the Clinton campaign strategic entries on the voter lists which show which voters may be only moderately supporting Hillary as opposed to which voters strongly support Hillary. There's an entire grading system in there used for developing call and GOTV lists.
This data is incredibly critical in the early states and can mean the difference at the caucus and primary in Iowa and New Hampshire. The Clinton campaign spent millions on this strategic data and they've been developing it since before Sanders ever announced.
You may want to get better informed about what is actually going on here. The data is pretty meaningless outside the caucuses and primaries.

(9,527 posts)It's hard to talk about honesty and integrity when you just got caught with your hand in the cookie jar and instead of coming clean with an independent audit, you file a lawsuit and stomp your feet.
Cal33
(7,018 posts)That is the whole purpose of Bernie Sanders' law-suit.
The third Democratic Primary debate will take place tomorrow (Saturday) evening.
I wonder if this subject would be brought up. Most likely it will be.
