2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAll Sanders has to do is prove the compromised data has been deleted
So, what's the big deal.
It was Senator Sanders that decided to run as a Democrat. He could have kept this on the down-low and worked with the DNC to resolve the "issue", but decided instead to make it bigger than it needed to be.
The only good thing, if you could call it that, is that Senator Sanders is finally paying attention to the Democratic Party he joined.

(4,822 posts)it's incumbent on him to get this settle as quickly as possible before it damages the Democratic Party. He wanted to be a Democrat, but he doesn't seem to want to follow the rules. He can blame anybody he likes and I'm sure his followers will follow along but it's nobody's fault but his.

(1,771 posts)The Sanders campaign threatened to sue the DNC. Not a great way to resolve an issue.
After the DNC leaked it to the press and blocked the Sanders campaign access to all of their own data???
But Sanders threatening to sue them for this... that was what blew things up.
Also, as was stated above proving a negative-"Prove you don't have that data somewhere hidden from me and while you are at it prove you aren't a witch without the benefit of a duck"

(23,720 posts)The DNC took this public. Then the DNC also locked the Sander's campaign out of their own data. The fact that the DNC is denying the Sander's campaign access to their own data is why they are taking the DNC to court today. They are suing to get their access to their own data back.
This makes the DNC look very bad. Especially since the controversy in regards to the debates was such an issue. It makes the DNC look like they got the election in the bag for HRC.
This little episode will also make HRC look bad if she supports the DNC and WAsserman-Schultz's decision to lock them out of their own data

(1,771 posts)I'm assuming it would have to worked out between the DNC and the Sanders Campaign.

(3,111 posts)They are supposed to give notice of anything like this, and time to fix it.
Timed to coincide with Bernie's excellent day yesterday.
2 million contributors
huge majority endorsement by Democracy for America
endorsement by very large CWA
This could easily be handled peacefully and internally, but no, DWS is in the bag for Hillary, and it couldn't be much clearer.
What a way to run a political party. Well, if you'd like to lose in 2016 like you've done so well before.
