2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumVIDEO: Did Anybody Catch Bill Press And Roland Martin On MSNBC Live A Few Moments Ago ???
From memory... paraphrasing:
Bill Press said that yes, of course the DNC is in the tank for Hillary Clinton. Said that he'd been to many DNC meetings, and they want HRC, and they hate that Bernie Sanders is running against her.
Martin Rolland said that this scandal was manna from heaven for Bernie Sanders. Reminded the interviewer that Bernie has been getting almost no press by the MSM, and now that all they're all talking about. Also, it feeds into the narrative that TPTB are trying to undermine his grassroots campaign. He can point to the DNC's actions as proof they are in the bag for HRC.
He also mentioned that that's what everybody is talking about tonight, will cause way more people to tune into tomorrow's debate, which will be featured hugely on the Sunday talk Shows, which will in turn feed the Monday/Week's news cycle.
If I find the video, I will post it here.

(40,656 posts)getting her fucking email scandal shut down will be undermined by negatives that she will do anything to anyone to get the presidency. Stupid idiotic tactics.
I was proud of Bernie for doing what he did for her, the ingrate but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. But for what it is, it showed his integrity. Why else would the others here attack and offer nothing but that?
Name a time when Mrs. Clinton ever stepped in to stop an injustice to another candidate who was being abused. You can't.

(10,909 posts)"millions of dollars worth of data" ?
Utterly delusional
They saved a one page summary report
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251913960
"a one page-style report containing summary data on a list was saved out of VoteBuilder by one Sanders user. This is what some people have referred to as the export from VoteBuilder. As noted below, users were unable to export lists of people.
...
"that user was able to search by and view (but not export or save or act on) some attributes that came from another" campaign"
The Sanders IT guy who oversaw the campaigns actions said he was doing it to prove what could happen to their data and he knew they could trace his actions when he did it.
They did not "steal" anything.

(45,806 posts)He said this firewall problem has been going on for months. They had reported it in the past and were told it would be fixed, but it keeps coming back. This time he said he was going to SHOW THEM the proof of the problem. It wasn't the best idea in the world, for sure, but I'm sure he was frustrated by the vendors lack of concern.
I have one additional question for this vendor. If it was easy for the Sanders campaign to get to the info, would it have been also easy for the Repug campaigns to get to it too?
I do think this is being way overblown because from what I've seen of the info that was accessed, it's really no big deal!
Jarqui
(10,909 posts)The vendor saying they didn't get much of substance. The guy who oversaw it saying similar stuff - because he was just tryin to prove and define what the problem was.
Sanders lawsuit wouldn't have much standing if they were stealing.
This to me remains an overblown hit job on Sanders.

(12,285 posts)That was confirmed by the vendor in their o.k. public release:

(21,054 posts)...too convenient and too coincidental. Bill Press is right on with this. HRC, DWS and the DNC tried to deal with this in a very stupid way. No doubt in my mind all three plus the vendor were involved in this set up.

(928 posts)23) Upon information and belief, a similar security incident arose with the NGP VAN
software during the 2008 national presidential primaries, resulting in the unintentional
transmission of Confidential Information to the campaign of Democratic primary candidate
Hillary Clinton (the Prior Incident).
So, in 2008 this company had another "oops"?

(6,960 posts)That's what Bill Press said about this DNC-DWS scandal.
The day after the CWA endorsement of Sen. Sanders ... "I smell a rat."
This is a Rove-type scandal, it is too clever by half on the part of Wasserman-Schultz and the pro-Hillary DNC.
DWS needs to resign and admit that she blew it; otherwise this is going to so deepen the divisions within the party and so further taint the scandal-prone Clinton that Hillary won't get elected even if she does get the nomination.
If this keeps going on it will solidify the perception and reality that the DNC is bias -- then that 41 percent of Sanders supporters that have said they aren't open to voting for Clinton will harden and expand.

(88 posts)but have called DNC(they are not answering) emailed DNC, signed at least 3 petitions. One of them is the White House petition calling for DWS firing, and donated for the 2nd time this month to Bernie.
After checking out several versions of what happened, I think that Bernie's campaign was set-up, and Hillary's had probably been spying on his all along, but this time, DNC thought they could attack Bernie on his strongest suit - integrity. Big big mistake. DNC looks 'in the tank' for Hillary, has basically stopped Bernie's campaign in it's tracks, which looks very unfair and dirty. Bernie gets much needed publicity and also gets to look tough by fighting them. Democrats do not take kindly to blatantly unfair tactics and this will backfire badly. I'll bet Bernie raises several million more dollars off this. Will definitely up viewership of the debate, to see if Bernie beats up on that poor woman.
Lots more thoughts but need to sort them out.

(15,435 posts)I decided I could cut corners in some places to give my $25 a month BECAUSE I DO believe in Bernie Sanders! This crap with DWS has gone on long enough! THIS isn't the first time she's been in the middle of upheaval either. She should have removed herself as the head of the DNC because she KNOWS she's biased! And she's been told this to her face many, many times. NOW, it seems she wants this over with quickly because the Sanders campaign wants to get ALL of the information out, not just this one time thing.
Not sure what really happened, but my gut tells me that there are many. many in the DNC KNOW what's happening and may privately be clapping their hands! This may just open THE door into just how corrupt DWS is!
Her first statement after the Sanders campaign said they were going to file the injunction DWS said they wouldn't do it. WELL THEY DID!
Just heard Howard Dean make some negative comments about DWS, but he's already "in the bag" for Hillary! Still he did say he has clashes with DWS himself. And looking at his face while others were talking was VERY TELLING! He looked like he was squeezed in-between a rock and a hard place. He jumped in with Clinton, which really ticked me off, but NOW he has to sit back and watch stuff come out that he very probably was on the same end as Sanders is right now! I stopped watching MSNBC after ED Schultz, but decided I wanted to see HOW they were going to handle this! Tweety's show didn't even address it.
SICKENING!
I've read many, many posts BEFORE this campaign started that DU members screamed out loud about DWS and many are now Hillary supporters! DWS is rotten and most of us here know it for a fact!
