Donald Trump and the Press - Attacks

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by one_voice (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

I sometimes find myself believing that I'm living in some sort of awful dream. I haven't felt this way since the day Bush was re-elected.

As we all know...there seems to be nothing that Donald Trump can say or do that causes him to go down in the polls. It seems to be more of a reflection on a segment of the electorate. Even realizing this, I would have never dreamed that there were so many in our country that find Donald Trump's antics "no big deal."

But more to the point of this post...
I am just waiting for something to happen to one of these reporters that he calls out on a regular basis. Tonight it was some editor who wrote an essay critical of "the Donald." This makes the fourth or fifth time that Trump has named a specific reporter. It is one thing to criticize "the press." It is quite another to call out a specific human being. What if one of Trump's passionate supporters decides to take out one of these press people he has targeted?

Just think of the ramifications of attacking specific reporters. It not only endangers the individual being targeted, but it says so much more about the kind of precedence it would set regarding the "control" of the press by one candidate.

I think that this is a road we will greatly regret traveling down. Very scary.

I won't fall over if he is sworn in on January 2017. The reason is his fans want a bully and a business man. We'll see. That is why I support Hillary. She can beat Donald.

The MSM is using Trump as a foil to keep Hilary's name in front of the voters.

Its "Trump says this" and "Hillary responds with.." , back and forth.

Its a transparent ploy to give the MSM an excuse to keep from talking about Bernie's proposals, and his continuing erosion of Hilary's lead.

Its Kabuki Theater for the shallow minds that populate the average audience of the MSM.

And its the reason the MSM will keep Trump in front of the GOP.
