Is Someone Worried? Clinton CALLS for 'Spirited Debate' With Bernie Sanders

My, my, how times do change quickly....last week Hillary wouldn't even refer to Bernie Sanders name in speeches because she was projecting and prepping for the GE in her mind and now, 3 weeks before Iowa and sinking poll numbers, Hillary is calling for a "spirited debate".......

In snowy Iowa, the race is heating up. With just three weeks until the caucus, Hillary Clinton took the gloves off to go after her Democratic challenger, Bernie Sanders -— who is now neck-and-neck with her in the polls.

“I think it’s time for us to have the kind of spirited debate that you deserve us to have. We’re so much better than the Republicans, but we do have differences and you deserve to know what those differences are,” Clinton said at a campaign event in Waterloo, Iowa today, after taking on Sanders for his position on health care.

"I just have a difference with Senator Sanders. He has a different plan,” Clinton said.

~snip~

It’s a rare move for Clinton to call Sanders out by name during her prepared remarks, and is yet another sign her campaign is taking the Vermont Senator seriously as the race ratchets up. On Sunday, a new NBC/WSJ/Marist poll showed Clinton ahead of Sanders by just 3 points in Iowa. The same poll showed Sanders ahead of Clinton by 4 points in New Hampshire. Clinton's campaign has acknowledged that she is in for a tough fight in the early voting states. Last week, the campaign sent a series of fundraising emails about the tight polls, including one from their campaign manager Robby Mook with the subject line "nervous.”

“There’s a situation developing in Iowa and New Hampshire that could change the course of this election,” Mook wrote in an e-mail, noting that Sanders’s campaign is outspending Clinton in TV ads in both states.

Jan 2016
Schadenfreude (/ˈʃɑːdənfrɔɪdᵊ/; German: [ˈʃaːdn̩ˌfʁɔɪdə] ( listen)), also known as epicaricacy /ˌɛpɨˈkærɨkəsi/ is pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others.[1] This word is taken from German and literally means "harm-joy". It is the feeling of joy or pleasure when one sees another fail or suffer misfortune. It is also borrowed by some other languages. An English term of similar meaning (but with no noun equivalent) is "to gloat"; which means to feel, or express, great, often malicious, pleasure, or self-satisfaction, at one's own success, or at another's failure.[2]

Thank you WIKIups..

In DUTCH it would be- "kwaadaardige vreugde" For Dutch words, one can usually take the German and just use few more consonants, if that is actually possible.. IN this case that seems not to be true.

In Japanese-- 悪質な喜び
In Mandarin -- 惡意的樂趣

88. Sad story: an Irish American male who married a lassie in Ireland and brought her to the US
Tue Jan 12, 2016, 12:27 AM
Jan 2016

in the 1980s. She had a nervous breakdown that was attributed to culture shock. I imagine being uprooted from family and friends played a role as well, but he did not mention that. ("Separation anxiety" is a term I've heard in connection for why some very brilliant kids can't hack living at school.) Ultimately, she returned to Ireland and they divorced.

I had never really considered that before hearing his story. Imagine what it must have been like for African Americans who were kidnapped from Africa to be slaves here, the Chinese who were brought here to lay railroad tracks and the like. Even early immigrants who came here eagerly because their countries were poor and suffering and the streets in America were made of gold (reportedly). Kind of mind boggling to imagine they could not even find ingredients for the foods they knew how to cook.

At one point my grandmother and her 3 sisters all moved to America. The other 3 returned and my grandmother wanted to but we were in such turmoil when my dad left that my grandparents felt they couldn't go bqck as they were the glue holding their grandkid's lives together. To this day, I feel terrible about that.

I can't imagine how immigrants, forced or otherwise, feel when they move country. I think that is why family groups end up moving to the same place-they're comfort for each other. And I totally understand the desire to go home again...hell I'm one generation removed from immigrant and I want to retire back "home" in Ireland...a goal that now looks more like necessity as the climate is much better for my illness.

Seeing as how she likes to incorporate Rosa Parks, Kwanzaa, etc. into her logo, why not this? It's a representation of her own shameful remarks.

Nevertheless, I will delete the graphic.

http://www.cnbc.com/2015/11/16/will-hillarys-clumsy-911-remark-come-back-to-haunt-her.html

Pressed by Sen. Bernie Sanders about her strong financial support from Wall Street, Clinton said: "'I represented New York, and I represented New York on 9/11 when we were attacked … Where were we attacked? We were attacked in downtown Manhattan, where Wall Street is. I did spend a whole lot of time and effort helping them rebuild. That was good for New York. It was good for the economy and it was a way to rebuke the terrorists who had attacked our country.'"

Clinton's rivals wasted no time jumping on the comments as factually wrong and deeply insensitive. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley on Monday ripped Clinton, calling it "shameful" that the former secretary of state and New York U.S. senator linked 9/11 to her donations from Wall Street.

"I thought that moment, frankly, was pretty shameful. I don't believe that the people watching were applauding the notion that Secretary Clinton was pumping out this smokescreen and wrapping herself in the tragedy of 9/11," O'Malley said on CNN's "New Day" program. "I don't think they saw that as something appropriate to do, to mask her coziness and her closeness to Wall Street and all of the architects of the crash of 2008."

And with those latest poll stats, it's also important to note that the percentages given for O'Malley support is also important, as it is likely that in m any caucus locations, there won't be enough O'Malley supporters to have a delegate represent them, and therefore many of them will be pressured to join a Sanders or Clinton delegation, or arrange an undecided delegation, where the majority of supporters in that delegation will likely nominate one of themselves who is closest to the candidate supported by the majority of voters in that delegation.

I have a feeling that O'Malley voters would be more likely to cross over to Bernie than they would Clinton. So, that could be a lot of upward potential for caucus support for Bernie that aren't even indicated by these polls, even if they are completely accurate now.

Would effectively cancel the margin of error..those numbers seem more and more similar to each other as polls tighten up

And that would likely give Sanders wins in not only Iowa and NH, it would do very nice things inside the Nevada caucuses and put him within hitting distance in SC, 'firewalls' be dammned.

At least, that's my take on it

... more by other voters and which are confined to just the voter who asked a question to a candidate that this media chooses to ignore.

Real debates make it harder for the media to screen out what they don't want to amplify and to report on what they do want to amplify.

I'd like it more if we could have some truly representative people of the people at large asking the questions in these "artificial forum" debates, so that we get more control of the questions getting asked (so not just Republican debate candidates are asked about the H-1B program for example). But at least having a forum like that where both candidates get a chance to respond to live questions, that a media controller doesn't have the chance to edit out or distort later is preferred over what you are describing which doesn't get heard by most Americans (or in the case of Iowa and New Hampshire, most Iowans and New Hampshire residents) helps us hear more what each candidate is really about with less censoring.

as a worthy opponent on the debate stage.

The challengers -always- want to be on the same stage, punching up at persons with better standing.

The champs always want to demean the challengers as unworthy.

A champ, begging for a spirited debate, rather than suggesting a few rounds of rope-a-dope?

I think this is great for gotc (get out the caucuser) in Iowa.

I say keep it that way - she had her chances - no debates.

Hillary can thank her co-Chair Debbie!

This smacks of desperation.

I guess her internal polling has her scared. Ignore Sanders and #FeeltheBern!

But, she didn't because she felt the schedule was to her benefit. Now she is losing again and this time to a guy with messy hair and not an ounce of GQ that Obama has, plus he can go on and on and on about a topic any topic. And he wants to be *gasp* President of the United States and not the supreme ruler of the world.
