Chelsea Clinton TAKES ON Bernie Sanders

Last edited Tue Jan 12, 2016, 07:46 PM - Edit history (1)

Like mother, like daughter!.........The Clintons are desperate.......

Edited to add Chelsea video link. JUDGE FOR YOURSELF:.......

http://www.nbcnews.com/video/chelsea-clinton-takes-aim-at-sanders-over-health-policy-600531523654

Chelsea Clinton made her way around New Hampshire today in attempt to convince voters that they should support her mother, Hillary Clinton, as the next president. Bernie Sanders, Clinton's chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, is practically tied with Clinton in voter polls. He now leads Clinton by a slim margin in Iowa for the first time. Until now, Chelsea Clinton has shied away from directly naming Sanders in her speeches. She took a shot at the Vermont senator when asked by a young voter how to best galvanize young Americans, who are excited about Sanders' candidacy.

The youngest Clinton was on the defensive. “I never thought that I would be arguing about the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare in the Democratic primary,” Clinton said at an event in Manchester. “Senator Sanders wants to dismantle Obamacare, dismantle the CHIP program, dismantle Medicare and private insurance.”

She then went on to say that she believes her mother has a “more robust" record on health care than anyone else in the race. The Clinton campaign has said that Chelsea Clinton will continue stumping for her mother on the campaign trail. She will join her father, former President Bill Clinton, in Iowa for a joint campaign event this weekend.

on the Obamacare goal of health care for all. Obamacare is a makeshift, intermediate program. What we need is single payer. I lived in various European countries. Single payer can take various forms, can be organized in various ways. The principle is what Obamacare moved us toward, and it a principle that Bernie repeats: healthcare is a basic human right.

It is especially true in a country in this time when our government invests so much money in healthcare research and when good healthcare is within the possible reach of every citizen, that healthcare is a fundamental right.

What kind of morality do we have if we continue to accept a system like Obamacare with all of its improvements over what we had before, that does not make healthcare a human right available to all?

What kind of nation are we? What kind of nation is Hillary proposing?

In particular, in our country, we need a special track of health care for people who are fighting chronic alcoholism and drug addiction. One of the big problems in our hospitals is the need to meet the needs of patients who are unable to care for themselves outside the hospital due to mental illness or addiction.

Obamacare offers very little to that segment of our population, and that segment uses a lot of healthcare resources. With single payer we can easily deal with the problems that caring for the mentally ill and for addicts present.

Hillary is simply wrong on the healthcare issue. So is Chelsea. They are mouthing the propaganda of the corporations -- the health insurance companies who could care less about care for the indigent, for the addicted and for the mentally ill. No money to be made on caring for those who need it most, so why bother.

Chelsea should research a topic before talking about it.

What say her portfolio is examined closely for all investments in the privately manipulated health care industry...

Pfizer (big pharma) was the most popular health-care stock among hedge funds. Also, hedge funds reported a position in Express Scripts (again, big pharma) ... popular pick due to the resumption of its business dealings with Walgreen following a dispute between the two companies earlier in 2012...

A number of hedge funds were selling out of Johnson & Johnson (A wide variety of health care devices in acute care, of which we have an over-abundencee and which is being managed terribly). That is why our current system of delivering health care takes over 17% of our GDP. Hey, George Soros owned 2.6 million shares of J&J at the end of 2012...

Then, there's the leading hospital company HCA Holdings which has become considerably more popular among hedge funds. Remember our friend in Medicare fraud, Rick Scott? Yeah, that HCA (my old employer).

The 1 percent can't even formulate an argument. She and they can't count themselves among the persons that would be helped by single payer for these obvious fascist reasons.

appreciate Bernie's push in that direction, but, after all, what national healthcare reform of any degree did he ever make happen? Some respect for those who worked for it for decades and for the administration that finally succeeded where he did not is in order.

Obama passed the ACA after only 6 years in Washington, and that was while he battling the global Great Recession and a congress determined to cause him to fail in every effort.

Bernie's spent 25 years in Washington and not only never made healthcare reform happen but also has has no other personal achievement of really great significance to show for those years. He spent them voting with the Democratic caucus 94% of the time, and we know how most bernistas despise all the others like that...

I'll support Bernie enthusiastically if he gets the nomination, but it'll be with my eyes wide open. As it is, I respect the real Bernie a lot more than most of his so-called supporters here.

But Sanders knew Democrats desperately needed his vote. He used that leverage in a successful fight to increase funding for community health centers — comprehensive clinics in medically underserved areas that provide doctors, dentists, mental health counselors and prescription drugs on a sliding-scale fee so that nobody is turned away.

is in the ACA, including 200 amendments the GOP used the very same tactic Bernie used to get included (only THEY then broke their word by refusing to vote for their joint product).

Bernie not only was not one of the leaders who got this landmark legislation passed, he was against it because it didn't go far enough. His contribution could have been far larger and more important than this one item if he was one of those who made healthcare reform happen. He could have had many of his ideas included as he worked on drafting it. But he wasn't and didn't, and that's the point.

Bernie not only failed to make healthcare reform of any kind happen, but he also has had no large achievements over 25 years in Congress.

And no endorsements from his colleagues. He was never a leader, just a minor congressman in a crowd of hundreds.

Bernie is singing my song in a number of verses, and I'll vote for him if it comes to that, but IMO he's not a quarter of the leader for change that Martin O'Malley has been.

105. ONE contribution among thousands. What'd he do for rural hospitals?
Tue Jan 12, 2016, 08:34 PM
Jan 2016

Nothing. How about home health care for rural elderly? Nothing.

Look, the community clinics contribution IS significant, and no doubt it's meant a lot to those it helps, but it is such a small part of a whole that OTHER PEOPLE made happen.

Left to Bernie, insurance companies would still be canceling our policies because we got sick and people with preexisting conditions would still be unable to get coverage. And, particularly of note, Bernie would not have been able to help all those community clinics.

In a community of leaders, Bernie has never been even an assistant leader, much less a mover and shaker.

And, considering that he could conceivably become our next president, and given the big changes we would expect him to finally make happen, it might even be better if we could say he was not yet tested -- that'd be better than a 25-year test that produced...mediocrity and an amazing lack of support from those who've worked with him all those years. As it is, if he was a failed president, it'd be our fault for electing someone with his record.

record than the vast majority of his followers here. I wanted to know if I could back him in spite of his amateurish, uncommitted entry into this race and concluded that his history was even less impressive. He opposed the Second Gulf War. I did too and like that. But it's hardly enough.

As for mayor of a prosperous little white town? I am charging Bernie with failing to be even an assistant leader among his peers in Washington. The big leagues he disappeared into with all that small-town experience.

But my main fear -- after losing the presidency with Bernie as our candidate of course -- is this: Americans often choose to split their votes between parties, president one party, congress another. We have a good chance to take leadership of the Senate. Thanks to the chaos in the GOP, even regaining the House is no longer absolutely completely impossible, and at least we should substantially increase the number of our seats.

However, I'm afraid that if America went to far as to elect someone like Bernie, they might lean even more the other direction down ticket: balance the left-wing iconoclaust with a bunch of conservatives to keep him in check, guaranteeing another 4 to 8 years of gridlock while plutocrats continue to infiltrate the government, sack the country, and legislate away our rights. And after that, just like today unhappy people would probably be ready again for a "change" -- to a GOP president.

Uh-uh.

It's been quite a few years since Rush Limbaugh asked his television audience, "Did you know there's a White House dog?" and then "mistakenly" cut to a picture of Chelsea Clinton.

People were outraged, in part at Limbaugh's usual level of discourse, and in part at the fact he was attacking a child.

Outrage was correct on both count at the time, but guess what? Chelsea's not a child any more. If the Clintons thought the Limbaugh episode would serve as handy inoculation into Chelsea's political future, they're in for a surprise.

Her husband being himself the son of a pair of grifters.

His father, Ed Mezvinsky, was a two-term Democratic congressman, representing Iowa's first congressional district from 1973 to 1977.But in 2002, the former congressman pleaded guilty to swindling more than $10 million from family and friends in a Ponzi-esque scheme.

Ed Mezvinsky himself also fell prey to a number of get-rich-quick schemes, including a "black money" scam in which a Nigerian man allegedly sold him a chemical that was supposed to remove ink off of $100 bills. Authorities say scammers probably used plain black construction paper.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2014/09/meet-charlotte-clinton-mezvinskys-dad-marc-mezvinsky/

Mezvinsky, now 77, pled guilty to 31 counts of bank, mail and wire fraud in 2003 after using his friendship with the Clintons to win over his victims.
Daughter Chelsea’s father-in-law, convicted felon Ed Mezvinsky, is under fire from his former fraud victims. According to the unlucky dupes, Mezvinsky stole more than $10 million — and has yet to pay it back!

Mezvinsky, the father of Chelsea’s husband, Marc, served five years in federal prison after pilfering $10 million from investors. He was released in April 2008, but he’s currently accused of being in violation of his plea agreement — because he hasn’t paid back his victims!

“It’s a little irritating that he brags about his son’s [$10.5 million] apartment when his son should loan him the money to pay back his debt!” one angry victim, Dr. Jason Theodosakis, told The ENQUIRER. “He could borrow [the restitution] from his son’s in-law [Bill and Hillary]!”

Then there's Chelsea's lovely mother in law - whose attempt to claim bankruptcy was thrown out of court by a woman bankruptcy judge who found Mrs. Mezvinsky's testimony "not credible", i.e., a pack of lies.
Marjorie has always like to wheel and deal.

There's this hot mess: http://articles.mcall.com/1993-12-10/news/2943448_1_margolies-mezvinsky-president-clinton-white-house
Flap Over Entitlement Summit Could Burn Margolies-mezvinsky

Preparations for a presidential extravaganza meant to rescue U.S. Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky from the brink of political extinction might wind up pushing her over the edge. The freshman Democrat hosts President Clinton and key members of his Cabinet Monday at Bryn Mawr College in Montgomery County for a conference on cutting federal entitlement spending.

But since news broke that Margolies-Mezvinsky's former campaign treasurer solicited up to $50,000 from corporations in return for promises of a "high-profile role" in the event: *A defensive White House has announced that neither Clinton nor his Cabinet will share a panel with corporate sponsors to avoid "even the appearance that this was a quid pro quo."

The political brushfire threatens to burn Margolies-Mezvinsky and singe Clinton, said analysts who were incredulous at the turn of events. "She made it look like she traded her (budget) vote for the conference," said David Buffington, publisher of a newsletter on Pennsylvania politics. "And now, she's making it look like she's trading her conference for money."
"She made it look like she traded her (budget) vote for the conference," said David Buffington, publisher of a newsletter on Pennsylvania politics. "And now, she's making it look like she's trading her conference for money." "She's turned her little affair into a real political soapbox," said Terry Madonna, of Millersville University.

Ed Mezvinsky's business dealings appeared to generate millions of dollars for the family, until a federal grand jury indictment in 2001 exposed frauds reaching back more than 10 years. He pleaded guilty in 2003 to 29 of counts of bank, mail and wire fraud.

From 1995 to 2000, Mezvinsky made $13 million, almost $11 million of it fraudulently, the grand jury indictment stated. He burned through $6 million by taking money from some people, including Margolies' mother, to pay off others, the indictment said.

About $2.6 million went to con men who duped Mezvinsky out of money, including an early version of the Nigerian email scam in which he traveled to Africa to collect millions of dollars he was promised after paying the con men thousands.

“Only in January 2000 did this pattern end, when Mezvinsky ran out of victims from whom to obtain money,” the indictment said. “At that time, he filed for bankruptcy protection.”

Margolies filed for bankruptcy the next month.

Low turnout for 2 of his 3 Pennsylvania appearances - scheduled all across the state for the same day. He flatout canceled the middle one (Bethlehem) with no explanation, apology or promise to reschedule. Those who did see him described him as thin, frail, not his old self, etc. The man has debilitating heart disesase, has had two surgeries including a quadruple bypass, and his older brother died of heart disease.

Hey, Hillary! What are you trying to do to him? Surely his cardiologist explained to you both that cold weather is dangerous to heart patients?!?!? Yet you scheduled him for TWENTY fundraisers around the country in the month of December.

for Bernie to refute and explain what his platform is regarding healthcare and why it is the way to proceed. They are making it easy for him to put his platform out there and make it visible.

Once he answers back - it will be easy for The People to see what the Clinton campaign is trying to do here.

Bernie's honesty will win out and the lies and the bending of words by the Clinton campaign will be exposed and further cement in the minds of The People that Hillary is just another desperate politician willing to do or say anything to get elected.

Notice I did not mention Chelsea here. I'm casting this cloud over the whole Clinton campaign. Somewhere along the line the Clinton campaign is derailing themselves. They are their own worst enemy. They are doing all those things that The People hate about politicians. This will backfire on the Clinton campaign. Having Bill Clinton on the campaign trail was a mistake as well.

Senator Sanders of course doesn't want to do any of those things and she knows it.

However, somebody needs to do something about Obamacare. As it is currently being administered it is not sustainable. The cost controls that dictated ceilings on administrative costs aren't being followed and the premiums are going to eventually spiral out of sight. When its cheaper to pay the penalty than get the insurance, it'll be back to the emergency room for basic health care for many Americans.

IMO, (and I'm a 70 yr old woman) Bill and Chelsea are being used to "spell" Hillary and give her a "down" time between speaking engagements.
If she succeeds in getting the nomination I guess they will have to find even more Clinton's out there to fill in for her at rallies.

Tue Jan 12, 2016, 10:25 PM
Jan 2016

And she's going to campaign in Iowa That is priceless.

See, her felonious father-in-law, "Fast Eddie" Mezvinsky, the guy who stills owes $10 million to the victims of the scams for which he served time in federal prison - well he started out as a state legislator.
He won a seat in the Iowa Legislature in 1968 and made headlines by demanding forthright business practices to protect consumers. During the legislative session, he held up a sausage that he said had rat claws in it. He earned his first nickname: "Rat Claw" Mezvinsky. Fellow legislators smelled an attention-seeker.

Then he was elected Congressman from Iowa's 1st district - good family man with wife of 10 years and 4 kids. But when he hit the bright lights of Washington, he fell for a hot little TV correspondent and dumped the wifey for her ("her" being the mother of Chelsea's hubby). Iowa's voters then dumped him.

So Myra Schulman Mezvinsky, age 73, now living in Virginia won't be around to welcome Chelsea to Iowa. http://crab.rutgers.edu/~mchugh/nigeriamezvinsky.html

Whirlpool of lies swallows Mezvinsky
By MIKE KILEN
Register Staff Writer
08/03/2003 Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. - Ed Mezvinsky was a whiz at taking people's money.

A quarter-million here, a half-million there - 8,000 transactions in five years. When shady African businessmen opened a suitcase of money, he was there to inspect it. When wealthy American investors were looking for a good return, he was there to offer one.

He was "Fast Talkin" Eddie." That's what political reporters privately called him in the 1970s.
Mezvinsky knows about wretched endings.

He is 66 and serving the beginning of an 80-month sentence in federal prison for numerous charges, including bank, wire and mail fraud. He took people's money - more than $10 million - in elaborate lies and schemes.

Prosecutors later would call Mezvinsky a one-man "crime wave" and said they uncovered elements of fraud in nearly every business deal of his dating to 1980. "We didn't even bother to look back farther," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Zauzmer.

Stop publishing her statements and make her go away. She deserves no more coverage than all the other millions of voters.

Really?

I would like to hear her explain those comments.

IF she does not correct them, then we'll know it was pure political dirty pool.

Chelsea, don't make me say shame, Shame, SHAME on you!

The Clintons have finally jumped the shark, all three of them. I wonder which political genius thought this was a good idea? Did they rehire Mark Penn or Dick Morris? Their act is old and should be off the air, hopefully soon.
