Pop music a comparison

I finally watched "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus, now as some of you know I'm more into harder, rougher music than pop. The songs ok. The video had potential, but fucked it up, and like the new Alice in Chains video, kind of ruined the song Which is, as I said, merely ok.

But I was reading about this young lady, from a small disagreement over the F word she's having with yet another young Diva--Selene Gomez.

She's 16; she goes by Lorde. The song doesn't pack a huge punch, but I'm impressed by the smoky tone of it.

Miley described by David Attenborough is classic, pee your pants funny.

Her behavior is so scripted it is utterly boring. Former child star does shocking stuff to show she's grown up because she lacks the chops to be interesting solely on her talent.

While I like that women are able to take their clothes off if they want to and and aren't forced into burkas, what she's doing amounts to bad art because she's using sexuality to cover for not bringing much to the table. It's cheap and manipulative. Then again, we are now talking about her and taking time away from the other young artist who does keep her clothes on.

The other one, saw the video. Still not my kind of music but at least it's a change. Not sure why she has hairless boys beating the crap out of each other. I do appreciate the antimaterialism message. Baffled that people are trying to call her racist. Some of the harshest criticism of ghetto culture comes from embarrassed black people. Likewise, nobody can criticize a redneck like an embarrassed southerner.

2. Well she's talking about anticonsumerism

but is focused on the consumerism of African Americans, when white people have the majority of wealth and are the biggest consumers.
