A favorite theme was colors and patterns. Plaid, stripes, spotted, all mixed and of all colors. The picture brings back nice memories.

A friend's daughter often goes about decked out in very similar style, right down to the stripes and boots, but with the Superman logo.

...in the following get-up:

- abstract print T-shirt in orange/purple/green with some black lightning bolts in the pattern
- madras plaid shorts in standard muted madras colors
- argyle socks in red, hunter green and harvest gold

It was too much, and I asked him to please chose one plain item.

it reminds me when my youngest dressed himself at that age. Cowboy boots, plaid shorts, t-shirt, tie and jacket. To go to the beach.
