(114,671 posts)looked at a way to both do outreach to groups that might need a more personal approach and might appreciate a call and discussion among peers. But even more so, I think the need to accommodate large groups without overwhelming Zoom's current technical capacity is also pretty paramount---(they've had to bring in engineers to upgrade as it is).
At any rate, those who think it segregationist to target white men or white women after the initial events convened by black women and then by and for black men-- in actuality all are open to everyone. It is merely a focus and done at grass-roots, not from the campaign itself. I think that was lost on some of the apparently "rankled."

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
