Is it cool to re-post something from earlier?

Someone had requested that I repost a thread from earlier because it kind of got lost in a big news day. Is it cool to do that?

But here is how I handle that.

If the article is not archived (meaning it can be kicked to the top) I will comment on it or kick it.

If the article is significantly different like an updated news story or a different opinion, I will post it.

If the item is archived and I really want to repost it then I will post it. I've done this in the Videos forum a few times.
