DU Community Help
Related: About this forumI guess I have to ask the question since I've only been here a few weeks.
I occasionally hear about putting people on "ignore".
I was looking for a button that said that and can't find it. Is it okay to get an explanation on this and the purpose it's used for?

(149,571 posts)There's a row of icons to the right of your username. The last one (on the right end) shows an outline of a human with a small red X superimposed on it. This is the ignore button.
You click on it next to someone's name when you no longer want to see them or their posts. There's different levels of ignore and when you click the icon, you go where you can learn about those.
Anyone you ignore will simply vanish.
Hope that helps!

(13,868 posts)When someone is on your ignore list you won't see their posts in a thread. That can lead to some confusion since someone may be commenting on something that person said and you don't know it.
About every six months I take everyone off my Ignore list (except two unnamed persons will will forever remain there. Many of those are put back on in short order.
