If I do that, will it also auto-trash threads that have words that start with those two letters in the thread title?

For example, if I want to auto-trash by keyword "MO", will it also auto-trash threads with the word "more" or "move" or "Montana" in the thread title?

1. YOu are correct in that

the auto-trash uses a simple substring search for the matching criteria.

You could try placing a space after the two letters to see if that helps, but I am guessing that it won't.
