My star is good for another 10 months, but I would like to make a donation on behalf of someone else so he/she will have a star. How do I do that?

(68,449 posts)another 10 months, but I would like to make a donation right now on behalf of someone else, and that would be money in the bank for DU. Weird that they would block that option.

(156,985 posts)I guess if a troll got a star given to him/her, then they could skew jury results.
I don't remember exactly, but it was something like that.

(37,481 posts)...because doing so counts toward a person's jury percentage. A person can pay whatever they want for a star membership, so we believe it is something that anyone should be able to do, if they wish.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
