Can I change my username without losing my post count and star?

1. short answer is no. You can abandon your account and start a new one

People have done that to be more anonymous. You need to not use your first account if you do that though, no having 2 active accounts.

After previous elections, at least in 2004, we were allowed to change usernames and many whose usernames were obviously linked to a candidate did so.
