the software is stripping out symbols from the thread title

which renders $10 posts such as "+1" incomprehensible.

This is happening because we were hacked and we needed to make our software more secure. Removing symbols does that. Eventually we will fix the software so we can be secure and have symbols in post titles, but for now we in a triage situation and we are doing things in order of importance.
