DU Advanced Search Tips

Are there instructions as to how to use the search terms field to delineate multi-work strings and other techniques to fine tune search results?

1. Put phrases inside quotes?

Is that what you are asking?

2. One of them. I tried single quotes and it didn't work, like Google searches.

.

This would be all the little tricks, such as strings, not words, which should be a - in front.

I try them out and they either don't work or I get zero results returned.

.

3. the google search seems to work better for subjects or phrases (or two authors in a thread, using +)

advanced search is best for a particular author, leaving the "search terms" box blank
