How to post an OP in the Right place
i’ve been told a number of times that the replies I’ve made on other threads would be better if they were their own opinion pieces.
i’ve been a lurker since the year 2000 and have posted a few replies to threads that I find compelling. I know how to create an op. What I don’t know is how to put it in the right place. i’m sure there’s an FAQ somewhere. could someone provide a little guidance. thanks in advance.

1. The best way to find out is to read the Statement of Purpose that each forum has.
Each forum and group has such a statement. You can find it in the same line of informative tabs that start with Start A Discussion.
Look to your right and you will see the box called About This Forum for the forum/group where you are. In there is the info you seek! |

4. I can tell you the de facto method:
"When in doubt, post in GD"
I wish the sub-forums and groups were used more than most currently are, but it seems many of us default to posting in Gen Disc. For example, I really wish all TV/movie/etc discussions would go anyplace *besides* GD or the Lounge, because they tend to disappear from those 2 places quickly. Same with recipes. Those should go to C&B. |
