Best practice for posting Tweets on DU?

Has anyone got a handy reference for tips and tricks on posting content from Twitter?

For example, when a video is in a "retweet" and the retweet is posted, for me (mobile, Android, Chrome) clicking on the video results in Twitter app being opened and video playing there, instead of within the DU post.

If the video is in the tweet that is posted, then the video plays with DU, for me.

While on Twitter, if you context-menu (right click) on the video, you'll see an option to "Copy Video URL" and this will get you the correct link to post on DU, that will play inside DU.

Also, if there's an image/graphic on Twitter that you want to embed (hotlink) in a DU post, if you open that image in a new window (while on Twitter) and then copy the URL, often you can modify the URL slightly to get it to hotlink (eg, move the ".jpg" to the appropriate position in the string, removing attributes).

If anyone can simplify and expound on the sorts of issues I'm referring to (and communicate them better!), it would be really helpful. TIA.

2. In the bottom right of the tweet

There’s a sort of box with an up arrow in it. Click on that. A bar will pop up - left hand side there’s a copy icon with to links of chain. Click on that. It should paste in the DU text box once you get back here.

Delete the "?s=20" at the end of the URL, lol

3. Thanks for posting - can I add a question?

How do you post a picture of a tweet, as opposed to the tweet itself? For example, I really try to avoid linking directly to a Trump tweet, which makes me uncomfortable for a variety of reasons. I've seen people post pictures of tweets, which I assume is to avoid such discomfort.

From my PC I do this:

I first click on the picture so that is separate, then I right click and "copy image address"

then you post the link but delete from the question mark on and replace with .jpg. Then you only get the picture and not the entire tweet.

I’ve never posted a tweet, but Christ all of them appear several times in one post. There has to be a way around that.
