I want to renew membership without using Paypal
How can I send money by credit card payment?
I've done this before but it's not working now. Paypal is insisting that I have an account with them, but I do not. ![]()

1. One of the choices allows you to pay by credit card w/out Paypal.
It's only good for a year.
The heading is Pay what you want. One-time payment. |

3. That's what I just tried to do
... and Paypal intruded and said that I already have a Paypal account. Which I do not.
Shocking and bizarre. Now Paypal won't let me pay by credit card as a "guest." ![]() |

4. IT'S ALL GOOD!
I've renewed my membership and used the "guest" option.
Sorry for the mixup. ![]() ![]() |

7. should have waited until tomorrow or Monday
hearts are coming (but they may cut you some slack and give them to you anyway...or ask after it starts)

5. Does the same thing with me. I have heard several DU folks
mention it. It probably beats DU out of getting money because it is so complicated. It needs to be made easier AND be pinned to every page.
Skinner mentioned there was a great deal of debt - it needs to be easy for us to help pay it off. |

8. I've stopped using PayPal due to "authentication" requirements.
They want to send info by text. I don’t have a telephone that accepts texts. They have no way to contact a human on a landline telephone. I have begun to dislike them intensely.

9. Paypal is a terrible company, and they're not a bank
They don't have to follow standard US banking rules, they just make up whatever suits them. I refuse to give them my banking account info, and I suggest everyone else do the same.
You don't have to take my word for this. Just Google "Paypal sucks" and see all the awful stories that have been posted about them over the years. ![]() |
