New TV shopping?

I am looking into buying a new t.v. My Toshiba Fire TV isn't that old but I am frequently having to unplug it and reboot it or else my apps often don't open right.

I don't want a lot of extra gadgets and I just basically want to stream shows and occasionally switch over to network TV. I am not looking for surround sound or theater quality visuals. I just want clear images and clear sound.

What I am wondering is if it's worth it to get the OLED vs the LED. There's like a $300 difference, and I really don't want to spend that much more, if I don't have to. Also does anyone have brand recommendations? So far I have been wavering between a Samsung or Sony, but I am open to other suggestions. I suspect the issue with the Toshiba is it came with a lot of preloaded Amazon apps that take up a lot of memory space, and it won't let me delete them. I had to give up Discovery Plus because it just kept crashing. I am also looking at ditching cable and switching to streaming you tube TV, but I am too scared to download anything else given the TV is already not working right. Which ever one I end up getting I will need it to be compatible with the Amazon Prime ap, Britbox, Acorn, You Tube TV, and Discovery Plus.

I have done some Googling but would really like some additional input and advice.

Also I don't think it's my wireless service thats the problem because it's only the TV I am having issues with. Thank you in advance.

1. We have LG OLED.

Put off buying an OLED, didn’t think it would be worth the higher price. But, now we are glad we got it. The picture is so much better, even with lots of all natural light in room. It’s easy to use. Like it very much.

7. This is what I want to know. I have to replace one soon.

I got a new phone and it took me hours to get all the permissions to track me off the things that have no business tracking me. And getting into my contacts and data.

couple of years ago because it was what I wanted but use it like a dumb TV by never connecting to the internet.

6. I bought a 50" LED for my living room and am fine with it. I looked at the OLED.

Wasn't enough difference to justify the cost for me.

All it sees is HDMI-1. That never changes.

There's nothing in the television itself to go obsolete. It's just a not-smart television monitor with one input. We don't use the remote control it came with because most of those buttons are useless to us.

HDMI-1 can be anything we choose through the external switch.

It might be an Amazon Fire Stick, Chromecast dongle, Roku, DVD player, VCR, a laptop... no limits.
