How to turn off DU notifications?

My account page does not show anything about DU notifications, which I recently enabled. I want to turn them off. How?

p.s. I just enabled notifications this morning, by clicking on a button DU showed for the first time. As soon as I did so, webpages from other sites became overrun with ads and pages load much slower. It seems enabling DU notifications opened the floodgates for ads on any page I load??? The timing is suspicious.

1. its usually a browser setting

For example, if you use microsoft edge, you go under:

settings ->cookies and sites permissions -> notifications
and can select ask me first, turn it off or even customize it per website.

Similar settings can be found in the other browsers.

2. When you click the padlock on the top of the page, it takes you to 'notification' reset
