With the avatar images now showing on the top left of all posts (I view on a

tablet via Chrome), the entire op is now narrower. Definitely not as readable as yesterday. Any chance of making a compromise, let the op go full screen width after the 1st paragraph?

Also, a question, I now note theeree iis no spell check on du4. Will it catch my error in this sentence? I think nnot. Any suggestions?

At least on my tablet, after the op headline 'paragraph'/double line header with the avatar image to the left, if the post could go back to full width I believe the readability would improve. Thanks

2. It seems to me that

adding the avatars back in has not added a significant amount of space to the left side of the screen. As I look at it on my iPad it appears readable to me, unless there's some other issue I'm not seeing. I think we're going to leave it this way for now.

The spell checker on DU only works on desktop layouts because it is ancient and couldn't be reworked successfully into other layouts. However, all modern browsers have built-in spell checkers -- you should see misspelled words highlighted in some way as you type.

One day later and the avatar images have grown on me...makes du du. I had never seen them before on my tablet and had grown too accostomed to that look.
