Question About New Formatting

I noticed that when I open a thread, some of the posts are now highlighted.
Anybody know what this means?

1. You can choose (look to the right side for option buttons) to highlight 5 most recent or

most recommended replies.

2. They're responses that got alot of recs.

I don't know what the magic number is to get the yellow highlight, though.

I'm not sure why that is not always the case, though.

Yeah, that's exactly what I see.
Is this new, or is it something I accidentally turned on?
Because i didn't see it until today.

6. Click on "none" if you don't want the highlighting.

I must have hut that option accidentally!
I'll solve the problem by turning it off.

10. "5 newest" is a useful feature if you're following a thread with lots of responses

and you want to see the most recent, especially if the responses are in subthreads.

11. I find it helpful in busy threads

But I don't see that option anywhere
