When a post is removed do you get a response if you appeal?

1. I don't think so. When my posts have been restored, I might have gotten a PM saying so.

Once I said, "Fine, hide me but look at the post that appeared before the poster edited it." That poster was banned. But my hide wasn't restored.

7. The last time I appealed a post removal, there was a box that said, something like

If your appeal is found to have merit, your post will be restored and you will be notified.

That was like 2 or more years ago, so my memory is hazy. There wasn't anything explicitely about what would, or would not happen if the appeal was rejected, but whatever the exact words were, I got the definite impression that there would be no notification about that.
