What is this about selling my information?

It comes up when I post something, but goes away with the default of basically, "go ahead" before I get a chance to click "Don't."

I would like the default to be "NEVER EVER SELL MY INFORMATION TO ANYONE, EVEN IF I CAN'T CLICK THE DANG BUTTON IN TIME!" Why is it even an option to sell my information?

1. I had the problem; it changed to normal behavior; now it's back asking a few times per visit.

I don't think DU has much control over the irritating thing.

2. If it happened every time, I'd be prepared for it.

But it doesn't. So I'm caught by surprise and too slow to respond. The default really should be to NOT sell my information.

I believe it is a compliance issue with limited site control.
