Yep. I don't know any other way to go about it, so that sounds like a good plan progree Sep 2025 #3

I clicked on the "About" button of Latest Breaking News, one of the main forums, https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=about&forum=1014

and found this:

Main Forum Hosts oversee Latest Breaking News, General Discussion, The DU Lounge, and DU Community Help (and The Way Forward and Editorials and Other Articles -Progree) They are regular DU members who meet certain eligibility requirements, and any DU member who meets these requirements may volunteer to serve as a Main Forum Host.

As for the remaining forums, I think they are all classified as topic forums, I clicked on the About button of one picked at random, the Economy group https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=about&forum=1116

and found this:

Topic Forum Hosts are assigned either by the DU Administrators, or by other Hosts of that Topic Forum. Topic Forum Hosts have the following abilities: ... 4) they may add other members as Hosts of the forum; and 5) they may remove any Host that became a Host after they did (and who is listed below their name on the list below).

I am currently the host of a group I no longer frequent and want to add someone else but don't see a way to do so in the group About section.

Thanks for stepping down as a host of a group you no longer frequent. As you've probably seen, there are a lot of groups where some of the hosts haven't been active in DU at all in years.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
