Ok...

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Spazito (a host of the DU Community Help forum).

I guess DU probably won't work out for me. I don't understand all the attacks that come from members here, having posts hidden for no good reason...

I really would suggest that DUers be more hospitable toward people... I've never come across anything so intense before.

I'll probably stick around as a lurker, but... wow.

Exactly what I mean... So I guess, unless my posts are full of 'Rmoney needs to strap Grandma to the roof along with his dog' kind of material, I'm can't be a DUer?

4. You say something that obviously inaccurate and yet post about "strawmanning"?

C'mon, take your own advice. Also, don't post links to GOP websites and try to convince people that those are the 'real' sources for information; they are spin.

a campaign website, or the site about Ryan's plan, are poor sources for their stances on issues... just like if I want to know where Obama stands on an issue, I'll start with his websites.

Seriously, I posted in all earnest, about a frustration of mine, and I was attacked, mocked, and censored. Now that mocking extends to another topic I posted about...

Is this supposed to be representative of the Democratic concern for the people?

10. No, it's representative of the Democratic disdain for Republican spin

You have repeatedly misrepresented this board and the posters and defended those opposing President Obama. If you will read the TOS ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=termsofservice), you might figure out why you have received a less-than warm reception.

I'm new to these forums, I don't know what people here are saying about SS and privatization. I posted because I was frustrated at the misrepresentation I've seen elsewhere.

If stating a Republican's official stance on an issue is defending them, then this clearly isn't the kind of site I am looking for. What's the point of talking about things that aren't true?

5. Does DU get more than the average proportion of trolls?

I've moderated forums before, and know how annoying they can be. I just don't understand why it seems to be guilty until proven innocent here(or Republican until proven Democrat)... even if I come out honestly and explain that I'm trying to define my ideology.

If you're really here to learn, then read and learn. Don't post idiotic crap about how the rest of us need to read right wing sources in order to get the "facts".

for a source for what I posted. The Roadmap for America's Future, whether you like it or not, is a valid source for what the Roadmap for America's Future says about Social Security.

For instance, on another forum, somebody posted about Romney's claim that Obama was attacking the rights of military voters, about voting early. I went to the primary sources concerned, which were the state laws involving early voting, and the lawsuit that was filed against the state.

I found in the lawsuit, that Obama was pushing to have ALL voters have equal early-voting access, not taking away the early voting for military.

Primary sources are good to find out what people are presenting as their own standpoint.

bring it down about 50 notches. Spend some time interacting with others and responding to their threads.

Anyone who comes in here and begins with controversial opinion pieces that appear to take the position that they know more than everyone else is going to get slammed. Particularly if those pieces appear to support Republicans or republican positions.

bring it down about 50 notches. Get to know the place. And don't take it to meta when you've been here about 13 seconds.

to find it if it is a place you will be comfortable. It would take Free Republic about 30 seconds to kick me out if I posted sources such as marxists.org ...
