I just spent time composing a post for Omahasteve & clicked post & was told I could not reply

I was told (by attempting to send you something weeks ago) that I couldn't priv mail you. Being relatively new here I decided to wait until I saw a post of yours to tell you I have a poem for you & yours in regards to your Mother's recent passing. It always uplifts those whom I have sent or framed as gifts to over the years. If you can, (being that you have a longstanding member of DU) E-mail me I will tailor it for your Mom & send it to you.I know in my heart the poem will bring a smile to all who read it. (cross my heart) Taz

In regards to Apple, I read the article you referenced & my immediate thought bubble had me looking into endless windows of multi-story sweat shop Chinese factories & I was overcome with immediate sadness. More tears today, triple AAA...Akin, Apple/Foxco & Augusta. More later.

You're over 50 posts, and that's what you need to use the private mail. So, by all means, send him your poem!

I'm not sure why you weren't able to post in his thread; was it locked? If a thread gets locked for whatever reason, nobody can post in it.

I read the rules, made my choice, & went to reason for vote; I (cell phone typist today) wrote my reason for vote, & hit post & it said time up so sorry. Is there a way it times out at same time you click post? I wanted to help so much. I now know if randomly selected, to just decide & let comments go if close to what 30 min? Thanks!

You must have gotten to post just as your time ran out......it happens. Don't worry about it.

4. Hi, and just so you'll know, you can't post, PM, etc. while you're on the Jury. When done, you can.

And I've timed out before too, when trying to go through the thread to see the context or where perhaps the dispute started. And the DU system updates at about 1 AM PST and 4 AM EST and the whole website gets slowed down for a few minutes. Welcome to DU.

5. Thanks to all for info ;)

I read all the rules...I knew you couldn't post during jury (upon agreeing to be a juror). My prob was that I tried to correct spelling in the optional "remarks" section & once I realized my time was running out pushed enter to the jury thingie & that's when it said buzzed TIME OUT SUKKAH. LOL I'll do better next time.
