Hello! New to the "new DU". How does the link work?

I have been on DU since 2006 as "SteveM" and "SteveW," but a new computer and a new account gets me past go without collecting $200 or retaining 10,000+ posts! Been having trouble with the link, and don't know how it works. Thanks in advance.

1. Which link?

Are you asking how to post a link?

3. You can copy & paste a URL into your message...

Or you can highlight a word in your post and click the "link" button above the message window, and enter the URL there.

Like this.

4. Thanks. It still does not work. "Edit" doesn't give the option of 'copy' or 'paste.'

I bought a "re-conditioned" Dale Latitude D620 with Libreoffice. Nothing but problems with dropping off wifi (found a partial fix), spell check not working (until I discovered another partial fix on the I-net). And now this. Too old for this, and never learned computers at young enough age -- absolutely no bg or intuition on these things.

5. You can try Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste...

(that is, hold the Control key and type "c" or "v"
