New User

All,

Wanted to introduce myself to this board. May as well get this out now ... I am a Moderate Democrat who believes in the 2nd Amendment. I have already been accused of being a "Gun Troll" which I am not. Republicans do not have a Monopoly on the 2nd Amendment. (That's a good thing for me) I earn a living as a firearms instructor and armorer. I hope that my presence here will be welcome, and informative.

As for other positions, well, I think you will find some of my perspectives a little interesting. I identify as a Democrat but I do not fall in lock step with the party line.

= OK with me with...
As long as there are clear definitions about what can exclude you from purchasing a firearm.
If we say you can't be a felon, OK.
If we say you have to have good credit, own a home and have a 6 figure bank balance, and glowing recomendation letters from your last 5 employers, now I will start to have a problem with it.

As for responsible gun ownership, that's something that needs to be learned, not legislated.
Sorry - I am an instructor and take the responsible gun ownership part very seriously.
If we have to pass laws about it I've failed at my job.

But try to get a nyc carry permit.
They want credit scores, references, and to 300 application fee.
Im all for background checks as long as the requirements are reasonable.

Is there an FAQ around here? I'm trying to find out what the minimum comment/posting ratio is.

After that there aren't any restrictions on starting threads - you could only start threads and never post a reply in any if that's what you wanted.

So there isn't a minimum comment/posting ratio at all, just a minimum number of replies needed before you are able to start threads.

If your question is related to something else, ignore this response.

Welcome to DU.
