How do I use imgur.com to post an animated emoticon ? When I use "direct link" the emoticon ...

1. I copied a DU emoticon to imgur and it seems to work fine.

3. Did you save it to your computer and then upload it?

I'm not sure how you got that .jpg extension on imgur.

If the graphic is already on the internet, try Upload images from the Web option and you should get an exact copy. Like this:
