It seems like a scam when I get a check in the mail that I didn't ask for.

I am going to let the whole thing go, rather than contact them and ask to be removed from the mailing list.

I use PayPal on eBay and Bill Me Later gives you the choice to be billed over time rather than pay
on your credit card with PayPal.
As you say - be careful of a scam.
If you want to get BML then go to Pay Pal and establish your membership thru them.
It just keeps your credit card numbers from getting picked off the internet.
