Happy to be here. I am from TA, Israel, I hope thats not a bias. My first language is not english; so if I make a mistake I hope it isn't that bad.

(24,721 posts)Welcome to DU!
Thank you very much.
Also id like to have the LGBT equality as my signature for now? I have two gay sisters that mean everything to me. If that makes sense? How do I do it?

(24,721 posts)Click on "My Profile" on the righthand side at the top of the page.
On your profile page, scroll down to "my avatar" & click on it.
Click on the "Slogans" category to find the equality picture. Click on it & it will download as your new avatar.
For my signature line, I downloaded the avatar properties to my photo-sharing account (Photobucket) & pasted the link from Photobucket into the signature line on my profile page. There might be an easier way to do it, but that's the way I did it.

(36 posts)I am a long-time DU lurker, first-time DU member. I'm currently not a member of any other online forum.
I am a 49 year-old single, white, Canadian male, currently employed in the horticultural / agricultural / construction industries.
I am fairly well-intentioned. I like all plants, most animals, some people, travel (the act, not the industry), cooking of pretty much all nationalities and ethnicities (but the healthier, the better), trades of all kinds, fine and efficient automobiles, sports (but especially hockey, of course), old movies, intelligent and respectful public discourse, cool tools, some useful and efficient technology, literature, common sense, jokes...I like a lot more stuff than I dislike, but I don't much like lies or intellectual dishonesty, overemotionality or histrionics in public debate. I am a real fan of objective, well-written, reasonable and lean arguments and the people I have often read here who make them. I like folksy sayings and Old Wives' Tales, too.
I like diverse opinion and the graceful or even clumsy expression of opinion - that's one reason that I'm here. I'm not overly satisfied with the ethics or behaviour or any one, particular political party currently, but historically I most often consider myself more liberal than conservative, politically. Not by all that much, though. Sometimes, I can be a little too stiff and wordy. I can handle correction and criticism, though.
My username is meant in jest. I have far too many agendas for any of them to be hidden (at least not well-hidden, or for too long). I hope to like some people here and learn some things I would't have learned otherwise. I ask a lot of questions about a lot of things.
I'm very happy to finally join DU, too.
