DU Jury - Why is the main post hidden but replies aren't?

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by uppityperson (a host of the DU Community Help forum).

One of my posts was hidden by jury decision by 4-2. I have not created this thread to oppose that decision. Although, i may not agree with the majority of jury members, i respect their decision

There was a reply to my original post. So why not also hide that reply post with my post?

I want to reply to that post but i can't as i am permanently banned from that thread. This doesn't give me a fair chance to speak. Either you should give me the right back to post on that thread or also hide replies to my post.

Because that post was not "disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate." why should that person be penalized for your mistake? You had your "fair chance" and forfeited it by having a post hidden in that thread.

You can respond but the point is to respond while keeping inside community standards.

you can't post in that thread, correct. But you could post on the forum an hour later.
