1. It might help to know what device/browser/os you're having this issue with.
DU remembers you by using cookies - make sure your browser isn't set to delete cookies when it closes.

That might be it too. |

5. My year old iPad is doing it too.
Never had problems before this past week. Now every time I go to DU I gave to sign, even though I've checked the box telling it to stay logged on.
Had to really think about my password since I haven't used it in nearly a year. |

6. I think the only Safari setting that would cause that is Private Browsing mode.
(top navigation bar will be black in Private Browsing mode)
Of course, that would affect all sites that require you to log in. However, if you are in Normal Browsing mode, try the normal dumb computer stuff - clear cookies (as long as you also know the passwords to other sites) and/or power down the iPad completely and turn it back on. Did anything significant change when this started (e.g. iOS upgrade, etc.)? Since multiple people seem to be having issues, it could be a problem on DU's end. I never stay logged in on any devices, so I haven't experienced this, but I just tested it on my iPad2 (iOS 7.1) and iPhone4S (iOS7.1) - the iPad remembered my log in status just fine (at least after closing the app a couple times and power cycling the iPad) but the iPhone initially said I wasn't logged in after a power cycle. When I hit the Log in link, it said I was already logged in and everything seems to work as it should without having to actually log in. ![]() |

7. The browsing bar is black.
It didn't used to be, it was gray. I'll try to figure this out. I haven't changed anything in my settings so don't know why this would suddenly be acting up but the quirks of technology are a mystery sometimes.

8. Just tap the web address to bring up the keyboard. The 'Private' button should be above the 'Q' key.
You can also get to the 'Private' button by opening a new tab (with the + button in the upper right corner) and if the new tab shows your 'Favorites', the 'Private' button should be in the lower left corner.
Edit to add: The instructions above are for iOS7. If you're using an older version, the setting for Private mode is in Settings app under Safari. |

9. Thanks!
I fixed it. Not sure how, but something popped up with privacy settings and I turned it off. I don't know how I turned it on in the first place.
