Discussionist - "That Username Already Exists"

That's the message I get when I try to register as TekGryphon.

I figure that means they carried over my username somehow so I try using that and get the following message:

"The username you entered (TekGryphon) does not exist."

I'm leaving this here because (obviously) I can't register or log in to use the Help section on discussionist.

How do I join?

Just go to discussionist.com and create an account.

We encourage you to sign up with a different username from the one you use here at DU. The message board culture is going to be different over there, and it might be more fun with a different name. Don't expect to find Skinner, EarlG, or Elad posting over on Discusionist; we've changed our names too. (If you simply must use the same username, you can request it here on DU by sending a DU Mail message to Elad with the title "Discussionist username" so he can release your name to you. We have set aside all usernames from DU so trolls can't grab them on Discussionist, but we have not copied over your email or password for privacy reasons.)

2. So, send note Elad, he will let you use name over there, sounds like.

At first I did not udnerstand the issue with asking Admin "to release the names" but now I do, thanks to your post.

3. Got the same thing! But...

Initially:

Wow, did someone take them all?!

Anything you see there by FiveGoodMen isn't from me.

And if this is how it begins, I probably won't ever be at that site.

Then I thought, maybe they just moved my account over there...

Tried just logging in: User name does NOT exist.

So it's taken, but it doesn't exist.
