Howdy from Texas

Yup! Not everyone in Texas is a FOXzombie and think Rick Perry would make a good president. It's amazing that he doesn't need help using the bathroom, he's that dumb.

I do not belong to any political party, but I would call my self a Proud Liberal. Been on some forums fighting back against Neo-Confederates who do their usual thing. Toss any facts at them, and they cry, go nuts call you a liar, etc.

With what is going on, WE really DO NEED to fight fire with fire. We can't go back 100 years because of the party of the dumb.

I've been referring to the GOP as the GOTP. (Grand Old Tea Party) Some in the GOP are wanting to shake off these crazies, but hey - they wanted them... they got them.

We need to be more vocal and more IN-YOUR face about their actions.

Women are losing their rights, but way too many of them WILL NOT fight to protect themselves. I think many of these are usually house-wives with plenty of time to hang out at Abortion clinics and such, wanting to keep the status quo... While working women and mothers don't have the time, money and energy to fight the fight... or afford to pop out 5 kids.

I was born in Corpus Christi, spent my school years in George West, went to college in Georgetown, worked in Austin and Irving, then roamed among Brenham, Irving and Wharton over the last three years.

Please subscribe to the Texas Group because we need everyone possible to GOTV within the next month. I tend to post a lot of stories (political and non-political) and it is an active group with other members posting articles. I've been thinking that I need to meet a few of my contacts the next time I'm in DFW so I'll try to remember to keep you on the list.

Dallas area.

I'm think we must start defending our American rights now... big time. I've been talking to people quite a bit.

When I meet my GF a few years ago, she never votes. After being with me for several months... she surprised me with a voter card. She didn't know her life and other women were in the hands of men with no brains.

I consider Wendy our hero... and she NEEDS to be our GOV. She's got more balls than Perry ever had. It would also be helpful for the 2016 election.

Off topic: I love Bill... but Hilary stumbles and has too much baggage. We really do need someone younger, about 40~50yrs. old. Hell, Biden can be VP again. I like Biden a lot too, he's always been a very honest person for a politician.

Welcome to DU. Looking over your profile I'm rather impressed and hope you decide to post from your experience and years. As a host of this group I would encourage you to write up your own hello, leave a greeting, offer positive support or ask for help. Although you will find there are many forums and groups where appropriate criticism is encouraged when it's within the standards of that forum or group, personal criticism is not encouraged here. It's a place for new members to get acquainted and introduce themselves in a non-threatening positive environment.

You may wish to check the link "About This Group (or Forum)" at the top of each forum or group to see what the standards are for that venue.

Again, welcome to DU, find your place to hang out and make yourself at home.

Defacto7 - I'm a mature citizen myself!

I'm glad you're here. We need more Democratic voices in Texas.

Are there groups for each region where we can network with other local Democrats and precincts?

There aren't any local groups for each region of the state, but whenever anyone is setting up a meeting they will usually announce it in the Texas Group. I believe that the most active members that you have in the Houston area are Gothmog, Kentauros and Skittles. A worrd of advice about Skittles--she is known to kick some ass so stay on her good side, yes indeed!

Lots of support for Wendy Davis, at least in the city. Got a chance to meet her at one of her speeches!

Glad to have someone who isn't a moron.
