Question about editing posts

Why do some edits generate an edit history message at the top of the post and others don't?

1. If your edit takes place in under 30 minutes, no message will show.

To see if a post has been edited, you can click on "permalink", unless it is the thread starter, then click on "thread info", both will then show the edit history. I will post, then immediately edit.

So it's still better to think before you post so you don't look like a jackass.
