Who are you people?

Just reached my 10 posts, hooray for me. A brief intro would be to read my profile. Which leads to my question--I'm curious why so many DU members, even long-timers, seem to have no profile info at all posted? I know the purpose of the site is to discuss issues, but I'm also hoping there's some "social" aspect as well, and it would be nice to get a brief look at the person behind the post.

Anyway, this seems like a great site and I look forward to mixing it up some with y'all.

I provide a little information in my profile but you'd be surprised how many people will use that same information against you in a discussion. If you stay around, you'll see.

I don't often look at profiles as I don't think they mean too much in the grand scheme of things.

But that's not necessarily the case with posts, especially if someone feels strongly about an issue. I'm a liberal from Northeastern New York. Welcome to DU, Bagsgroove! It's great to have you with us!

Of course I had to read your profile.

Though I am originally from Michigan (and living in Michigan now) .... I Lived in Alexandria for almost a year (while decided where to build a house) .... we lived in the Fredericksburg/ Spotsylvania Co. area ... for several years. I decided that I am NEVER living in the "Bible Belt" again.

I will say it was a physically beautiful area .... and of course (on an individual level) there were some wonderful folk.

I left Michigan saying "you guys" and returned saying "Y'all"

I have the same question. I stumbled upon this site by accident from somewhere I was surfing. I am new to the forum game and am not sure exactly how it works. I guess if I get yelled at or thrown out of somewhere then I did I wrong. If I get responses to my posts when I get my 10 in, then I guess I did it right.

I hope I am in the right place. I have been a Democrat since I was born I guess. I grew up in a Democratic home and it is on my voters card. I got my card in 1977 and it says Democrat on it.

Thanks Bagsgroove

Title of a famous jazz tune by Milt Jackson, better known as an album title by Miles Davis. Politics and jazz are my two passions.
