By an amazing coincidence, all ten of these accumulated posts are in response to this one thread of mine!
Could somebody please contact MIRT about this?

(30 posts)...US Coast Guard Global Address List, Register of Officers and Direct Access all show, we know you were neither commissioned in 1985 as you claim nor an ENS in 1988 either.

(30 posts)...on another thread to "Ryan": Now, we are all wrong sometimes. And I am certainly an imperfect human being. So I will make (the supposedly) Lieutenant Commander Ryan Fitzomething a deal. You send me an email to Boatswain2PA@gmail with details of who you are, and I will ask some of my friends up in D17 (Alaska) if you are for real. If you are, I will come back on this board and publicly apologize, and I will send you a bottle of wine for you to share with your wife as my apologies for calling you a liar."
"Ryan" in response posted he had "reported" the Senior Chief for this post (which exposed "Ryan's" claims as being unbelievable). Mind you "Ryan" claims to be a commissioned officer and 52 years of age. He really needs to cry to mommy and get an enlisted subordinate banned when a simple email to the Senior Chief would have set the record straight?
Meanwhile other Coastguardsmen on this forum and others rather than supporting "Ryan" all call his story for being the Stolen Valor and BS it is.

(8,976 posts)...my brother (101st RVN 70-71) hates that stolen valor stuff and he says a website called "It aint Hell but you can see it from here" has teams that will investigate false claims if you give them enough identifying info...
PissedOffCoastie
(30 posts)...has already sent screenshots of "Ryan" and his BS claim to Stolen Valor Facebook.
CG District 17 in Juneau, AK has no, repeat zilch "52 year old Lieutenant Commander, commissioned in June 1985" assigned onboard.
"Ryan's" story was so over the top which is what brought him the attention he craved. He apparently didn't count on anybody from the actual Coast Guard reading it and recognizing it for the BS it was.

(30 posts)...not even enlisted. And unlike you, I am not on record of claiming to be something that I am not.
While Stolen Valor might not apply in your bogus (and impossible by CG Officer Personnel Management Policy) claim of being a 30 year LCDR, impersonating a federal officer very well could be. It all depends on how busy or bored CGIS in Juneau is to want to look into you.

(34,582 posts)veterans don't take kindly to impersonators. Please note that I am not saying you are, I have no way of knowing, but some think you are.

(8,976 posts)I'd hate to see a genuine veteran attacked.
Ryan Fitzomething
(139 posts)That was a grievous mistake on his part, and I'll be damned if I give in to concern trolls!
PissedOffCoastie
(30 posts)...a veteran, but he is not an active duty LCDR. The USCG Global Address List shows him to be misrepresenting himself in that regard.
Even if the CG personnel database is "classified" or whatever nonsense story he may try to excuse him not being represented in it, don't think he is a Coastie Officer though. His disrespect for his co-workers and subordinate enlisted shows he is not what he claims.

(30 posts)..."Ryan" should not have impersonated a federal LEO?
Coast Guard officers are a unique breed, pretending to be one when you are not as "Ryan" did in hopes of bolstering his credibility here, is not going to be taken lightly by members of the Coast Guard itself.
"18 USC § 912 - Officer or employee of the United States
Whoever falsely assumes or pretends to be an officer or employee acting under the authority of the United States or any department, agency or officer thereof, and acts as such, or in such pretended character demands or obtains any money, paper, document, or thing of value, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both."
Not to mention the tone his posts are disrespectful (referring to his wife as a "MILF" is sexist/offensive to women and would not tolerated if he was an active duty officer for instance) and not in keeping with our Core Values.

Nor would a CG officer commissioned in 1985 (as "Ryan" claims) be still on active duty as a LCDR. YearGroup 85 officers are all post-continuation Captains or Flag Officers. And no, it's not possible he wasn't promoted and the CG just let him stay. The CG has an "up or out" system so "Ryan" would have been forced out about ten years ago.
His story is pure BS.

page 16 covers use of force in drug interdiction and I see nothing like the incident you described.
Can you explain this? What was your boats name?
